Forest Preserve District of DuPage County We are a nationally recognized conservation agency that connects people to nature. Programs at six centers serve over 80,000 participants each year.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County owns and manages more than 60+ forest preserves made up of 26,000 acres of prairies, woodlands and wetlands. Each year, more than 6.2 million visitors enjoy the 166 miles of trails and preserves that offer a variety of scenic views and leisure activities.

🚧 Heads up, folks! The Horse Trailer parking lot along Greene Rd. at Greene Valley Forest Preserve will be CLOSED June 23 and June 24. Crews will be sealcoating. As always, work is weather dependent. Thank you for your patience while we make improvements!

Pop-Up Program: Firefly Wagon Rides

St. James Farm Forest Preserve
$10/person (Registration required)

Visit a forest preserve after sundown to experience "nature's light show". This program will allow visitors of all ages to go on a wagon ride to view seasonal firefly displays and participate in fun crafts and interpretive activities. Visitors may bring a flashlight and wear bug spray. Please leave your dog and firefly jars at home.
