HALLOWEEN PARADE & PARTY: This Saturday, Oct. 31st, we will host our annual Halloween parade in Idlewell. Let's meet at the usual spot at the corner of Biscayne & Pleasantview at 3:00pm for a parade to Red Pier. We will have pizza and beverages there before we disperse for trick or treating.

REMINDER: Our annual block party is this Sunday, October 25th from 12:30-4:00pm at the usual location on Biscayne Avenue. We have lots of food, games, live music, drinks, fellowship, and fun. If you want to bring something, we have a DESSERT table for donated treats like cookies, mini cupcakes, etc. Also, this year we have a brand new Idlewell hoodie on sale for just $25 so bring venmo or cash too. See you on Sunday. Scholarships presented at 1:00pm and music kicks off right after. The grill will be hot and ready by 12:30pm with burgers and hot dogs.

It is with heavy hearts and sincere condolences that we share again here what we circulated to our Idlewell members via email. Our hard working treasurer Jennifer Connolly recently lost her mother, and today they are gathered as a family in visitation for a funeral mass tomorrow. BLOCK PARTY (POSTPONED): NEW DATE: Sunday, October 25th from 12:30-4:30pm at the typical location on Biscayne Avenue. With the weekend nor'easter, we couldn't justify an outdoor event this weekend. Be safe this weekend especially around these high tides windows when we could see flooding in Idlewell.

BLOCK PARTY: We have been closely monitoring the weather forecasts for the upcoming weekend over the past few days. It is looking more and more confident that a nor'easter will impact the entire weekend weather. We will make a decision on Thursday and communicate it to the community.

NEW DATE for BLOCK PARTY: We are pivoting the block party two weeks to Sunday, September 27th. Same time and place - 12:30pm start gathering..."formal" portion at 1:00...and then the live music kicks off shortly thereafter. Sadly, there is a forecast of a string of serious storms this Sunday coming through Weymouth from 11am to 2pm severely impacting a critical portion of our setup and block party, so the prudent thing is to hope for better weather on 9/27.

Our neighbor Betty Greene will be hosting a yard sale at 99 Hibiscus Avenue this Saturday (9/12) from 9am to 2pm and Sunday (9/13) from 9am to 12noon. Contents include a Kayak, camping gear, camera gear, household items. As a reminder, our block party kicks off just afterwards beginning at 12:30pm on Sunday (9/13) on Biscayne Avenue.
