TAPA’s First International Competition | Houston, TX 🇺🇸

A historic milestone for Thiên Ân Performing Arts as we completed the first competition in our team’s history!

Final Score: 7.11 | Deduction: -0.70

For our competitive debut, we are incredibly proud of the score we achieved and the performance our athletes delivered on an international stage. Despite the deductions, this result reflects the dedication, hard work, and countless hours of preparation that went into reaching this moment.

This experience gave us valuable insight into the competitive lion dance scene and highlighted areas where we can continue to improve. We recognize that there is still much to learn, but this is a strong foundation to build upon as we look toward future competitions.

A huge thank you to our coaches, athletes, families, and supporters who made this opportunity possible, as well as the organizers (H-Town Lion Dance Championship & Soaring Phoenix • Con Rồng Cháu Tiên USA Dragon & Lion Dance Sports Association) and fellow teams for an unforgettable experience.

One competition down, many more milestones ahead. This is only the beginning for TAPA! 🦁🔥

A historic first for Thien Ân. 🦁🏆🌎

For the very first time, Thien Ân is stepping onto the competitive stage at the International Lion Dance Competition H-Town Lion Dance Championship , proudly standing as one of only TWO teams representing Southern California!

What started as a passion for preserving our culture and traditions has brought us to an international stage alongside some of the best lion dance teams.

This milestone represents countless hours of practice, dedication, teamwork, and the courage to step outside our comfort zone.

Win or lose, we’re already making history for our team. This is just the beginning of a new chapter for Thien Ân. ❤️

It was an honor to be part of LS Nguyễn Xuân Nghĩa’s Celebration of Life. We don’t often perform at Celebrations of Life, but when his sister reached out, we couldn’t say no.

Many may not know this, but Anh Nghĩa was the one who gave “TA” our very first introduction to the Little Saigon community at the first-ever Tết Parade 12 years ago. He later connected us to the United Nations International Parade in New York as well.

We will always remember his spirit and his love for Vietnamese history and culture.

Thank you, Anh Nghĩa. Your legacy lives on. 🕊️
