We are living in challenging times. Many of us are looking around in horror at the chaos happening in our country and wondering how this mess could have happened. It seems that we as a citizenship may have trusted the untrustworthy, namely many of our country's leaders, to steward a growth-based agenda focused at least in part on humanitarian issues such as bettering health, education, civil rights, growth, unity and expansion....

In life, many of us are touched by the tragedy of mental illness. Present circumstances have caused my own related traumatic wounds to resurface. My brother, five years my senior, seemed to have the perfect adult life until bipolar disorder plunged him and his world into real life horror. He attained what he had always strived for: a successful medical practice, widespread respect in his community and a picture-book family....

I've taken a fairly lengthy sabbatical from my pretty tidy existence, to once again be a student and observer of Life; to observe and gain a more expanded perspective of the world and individual realities we all create and inhabit. This always entails leaps into a different pool than the one we are comfortable with. If we are really interested in expansion, we welcome the challenges to what we have become comfortable believing, supporting, working toward and for......

Paramount in today's spiritual and conscious conversations, is the notion of acceptance. The concept is often bandied about and used to prove points, and I've not heard anyone disagree with the truth of it. But how often, when we are challenged with something or someone we do not agree with or somehow ideologically are threatened by, are we able to follow through with allowing it to be what or who it is, and stay in non-judgment? If we are going to rise above the competitive, fear-based and rather narcissistic consciousness wiring of what I metaphorically refer to as the "110" low-vibrational circuitry, a must practice, along with Gratitude, is Kindness. I capitalize and italicize the word, because I do not believe it was created in the lower "110" reality. Instead, it comes from a higher consciousness existence that is available to us all (which I refer to as the "220" consciousness), because it is the essence of our largely unrealized consciousness potential. 492 more words [ 485 more words ]
