Dear Friends and Neighbors - we need your help to keep our doors open!

https://www.rocketcommunitychallenge.com/story/a93g1g

Right as winter was ending, our boiler suffered a catastrophic failure and must be replaced. We limped through the final weeks of cold weather with space heaters, layered clothing, and an incredible amount of determination from our staff and volunteers. It wasn't ideal, but we were committed to keeping our doors open. We cannot, however, ask our volunteers—most of whom are senior citizens—or the vulnerable neighbors we serve to endure another Michigan winter under those conditions. While replacing heating and cooling equipment may not be as inspiring as filling pantry shelves or delivering groceries to a homebound senior, it is every bit as essential to fulfilling our promise.

At first glance, a $110,000 project can feel overwhelming. We believe it is achievable because we are starting off with $45,000 of matching funds from the Dunning Foundation. If we reach our $65,000 goal - the project will be fully funded!

In addition, every local commitment strengthens our ability to secure matching grants and foundation support. Your pledge doesn't just fund a portion of an HVAC system—it helps unlock additional investment from partners who want to see their dollars matched by a community that believes in its own future. Together, we can leverage every gift to multiply its impact.

We are also open to any and all leads for additional sponsors, grants or even an HVAC company willing to work with us. Please feel free to message our page with any information.

Oh Norwayne! We had a wonderful time creating new memories with all of you! We pray we helped to get you off on the right foot for the new school year. We were even able to give away 10 household goods baskets to 10 lucky families thanks to our community partners. It was a perfect day with tons of activities, harvest from our community gardens, giveaways, full family dinner with free ice cream from the ice cream truck! We love you all so much and we are thankful to our community partners, staff of Jefferson barns and volunteers that help bring these events to life. The Norwayne Citizens Council meets the 2nd Monday of every month at 5pm at Jefferson Barns. This is your community and council. Come and share your ideas, dreams and visions for your neighborhood with us to bring to fruition. We are stronger together! Share your photos from the event and we will highlight and feature you on our page!
