I need EVERYONE to READ THIS POST and THEN read the flyer below!
I had a meeting yesterday with the director of the Wayne County TEFAP program(The Emergency Food Assistance Program).
This is something I have been sitting on for a few months and please believe me when I say it was not a decision that was made lightly or quickly.
We pride ourselves in making a visit to EBB as hassle-free and easy as possible, and before this meeting I truly thought getting in on this program would effect that. The great news, it will NOT!
This partnership will allow us to recieve monthly donations of USDA food. This will help tremendously when it comes to keeping our shelves(especially our non perishable shelves) stocked at no cost to our program or our donors.
There WILL be a few small changes at check in, BUT this will NOT effect your shopping experience. EBB has NEVER turned anyone away for income or location and that will STILL be the case!
All volunteers will have to go through a short TEFAP training program. It will have to be done yearly. (Volunteers, you can message me for the link, it can be done at home or it can be done in office if you think you may need help. It takes about 15-20 minutes, this is a REQUIREMENT in order for us to recieve this partnership.) This is only for volunteers who work IN THE PANTRY, our pick up and drop off volunteers will not be required to complete the training.
New check in questions:
Previously we only took your first initial and last name. We WILL have to take your full first name once our partnership is finalized. As always, all your information is protected. EBB does NOT release ANY client information. The new questions WILL be sent Monthly to TEFAP where it is ALSO protected under state guidelines.
(This will just be questions, you will not need to provide documentation)

This includes:

Again these are JUST new questions on our check in. You will NOT NEED TO BRING DOCUMENTATION!
If you have ANY questions, comments or concerns that you would not like publicly discussed, feel free to message the page.
Thank you all in advance for understanding. This was a choice made to better our pantry and better the options provided to those who utilize it.
