The Good Shepherd is a Foster Care Agency in association with The Mark and Jacob Iskander Foundation. We know his prayers continue for them in heaven.

The goal of the organization is to provide support for underprivileged children from all backgrounds. Mark and Jacob passed away in 2020 in a tragic accident, today they are changing the world by the power of love and kindness

MARK ISKANDER
Mark, age 11, was gifted in math and science. If you had the great joy of enjoying a conversation with Mark, there was likely mention of reptiles or ice hockey -- two passions he championed proudly. Mark was faithful and never forgot to remember his friends and family in his prayers. He had an unmatched sense of humor and shared his charisma with his brother, Jacob. JACOB ISKANDER
Jacob, age 8, never shied away from adventure and excitement! Jacob loved running track because it allowed him to showcase his speed, his strength, and his sportsmanship. Jacob was a great friend to all who were blessed enough to call him a pal. He was devoted to both learning and memorizing the word of God, and he spread it to everyone he met through his actions and infectious smile.

Today we celebrate Mark Iskander’s 17th heavenly birthday 🎂✨💙 and, in his honor, we get to lift up two incredible foster moms nominated by this community 🫶

On September 18th, Mark celebrates his 17th birthday in Heaven. To honor the day, we want to do something he would have loved — celebrate a foster parent who gives everything to the children in their care.

Thank you, community! Your kindness made a real difference. Thanks to everyone who purchased school supplies and clothing, our 17-year-old foster youth is fully prepared and ready to walk into the new school year with confidence. K.M was removed from her home last September due to neglect. She wasn’t attending school, she had been in our care since with an amazing foster mom, we are so proud to see her staring 2nd grade.
