A heartfelt THANK YOU to Dime Bank and the Dime Bank Foundation for their generous $7,500 grant in support of WARM Center! ❤️

We were thrilled to welcome members of the Dime Bank team to WARM for a visit and the opportunity to share more about the work we do each day. This grant will help us continue providing essential programs and services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability in our community.

We are incredibly grateful for Dime Bank’s continued partnership, generosity, and commitment to making a difference right here in our community.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us bring hope, stability, and opportunity to those who need it most!

Recently, the Dime Bank Foundation presented a check in the amount of $7,500 to the WARM Center in support of their wide array of essential programs and services. WARM’s mission is to provide a continuum of care to people who are homeless or in need by providing affordable housing, supportive services, and helping those in need build self-esteem and move toward independent and responsible living.

September at WARM Center 💙

September was a month of impact, connection, and celebration!

🏠 Most importantly, 24 households moved from homelessness into permanent housing—24 new chapters filled with greater stability and hope.

We gathered with our Board and staff for our Annual Meeting, recognizing staff milestones and the community partners who make our work possible. Our team also welcomed Leadership Rhode Island for another workshop focused on strengthening and growing together.

Jill and Monique represented WARM at the Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament, connecting with partners and sharing WARM’s mission. And we proudly celebrated Brianna Ehler as she received a Courage Award for her dedication to this work. ❤️

24 households housed. Stronger partnerships. A growing team. Another great month at WARM.

💛 Some visits stay with you long after they’re over. Today was one of those days.

We were very happy to welcome Jack (right) and Eli (left) to WARM Center today. Their grandfather is turning 80 this month, and in the eight weeks leading up to his birthday, he challenged each boy to complete 8 acts of kindness. He also gave them each a little money and asked them to use it to help someone else. Both boys chose WARM.

Of course, we are grateful for their donations—but what means even more to us is the heart behind them. Jack spent time volunteering with our Summer Lunch Program this year, and his experience at WARM stayed with him. When given the opportunity to choose somewhere to give, he wanted to come back to WARM—and Eli chose us too.

Today, these two boys reminded us that kindness doesn’t have to be big or complicated to matter. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, giving your time, and choosing to care. Jack and Eli, you touched our hearts today. We hope you know that the kindness you’re putting into the world is worth far more than what’s inside an envelope. 💛

And to their grandfather—happy 80th birthday, and thank you for giving your grandsons a gift that will last far beyond eight weeks.

On October 8th, organizations and donors across the country will come together to show what Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) can do when charitable dollars are put into action.

For WARM Center, a DAF gift is an investment in our mission to prevent and end homelessness—supporting the programs, resources, and services that help individuals and families in our community move toward greater safety and stability.

If you have a Donor-Advised Fund, we invite you to put it to work for our community this .

Let’s show what your DAF can do.

Taking care of the people who take care of the people.

At WARM Center, we know the strength of our organization starts with the strength of our team. Our staff recently participated in Leadership Rhode Island’s Discovery Lab as part of our ongoing CliftonStrengths work—learning more about the unique strengths we each bring to the table and how we can use them to better support one another and the people we serve. This opportunity was made possible through a generous grant from the Papitto Opportunity Connection ,allowing us to invest in the growth, connection, and well-being of our team. The work of preventing and ending homelessness is deeply human work, and we’re committed to investing in the incredible people who make that work possible every day.

Progress Worth Recognizing — and Work Still to Do

New data from the Rhode Island Homeless Management Information System shows an encouraging shift: fewer people are entering the homeless response system for the first time compared with the same period last year.

In 2025, 265 people entered the system for the first time. In 2026, that number decreased to 141 — a nearly 47% reduction.

At WARM Center, we know these numbers represent more than statistics—they represent our neighbors, families, and individuals navigating incredibly difficult circumstances. While there is still significant work ahead, progress matters.

Every connection to resources, every housing placement, and every effort to prevent homelessness before it begins brings us closer to a community where everyone has a safe place to call home. 💙

We’re encouraged by the progress, and we remain committed to the work ahead.
