The US has the highest maternal mortality rate of any developed nation. Congress is considering several bills to improve research on infant mortality, maternal death and pregnancy complications. Studying maternal death factors and pregnancy complications can help save lives.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re spotlighting the groundbreaking work taking place at Hadassah hospitals to advance breast cancer detection, treatment and survivorship.

Under the leadership of Dr. Tanir Allweis, head of Hadassah’s Breast Health Center for Excellence at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, Hadassah is preparing to implement Mirai, an AI-powered tool that analyzes mammograms to help predict breast cancer risk up to five years in advance. Initially being introduced for research, Mirai could help pave the way toward more personalized, risk-based screening.

And innovation doesn’t stop at detection. From multidisciplinary breast care and treatment support to survivorship programs, Hadassah is committed to caring for the whole person at every stage of the journey.

Because better breast cancer care means looking beyond the diagnosis. 💗

Hadassah leaders Debra Mazon, American Affairs Advocacy Chair; Leah Kabrt, Hadassah Northern NJ Region President; and Geri Lipschitz, Hadassah National Board Member and UN Committee Member, joined a press conference to introduce a bipartisan House resolution to remember October 7, 2023 - when Hamas terrorists carried out the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust – affirm Israel’s right to self-defense and support the disarmament of Hamas.

Dani Dayan, Chairman of Yad Vashem, will join author Dara Horn for a conversation moderated by Adam Kuperstein of NBC 4 New York. The program will also include performances by Cantor Azi Schwartz החזן עזי שוורץ and Broadway performer Steven Skybell, accompanied by Zalmen Mlotek.

As we mark three years since Hamas terrorists carried out the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, Hadassah leaders across the country are attending commemoration events in honor and remembrance of all those who were murdered, injured, tortured, r***d and held captive by Hamas.

Hadassah Metro Managing Director Lara Werwa was proud to attend an October 7 commemoration event hosted by the Consulate General of Israel in New York City and speak with Consul General Ofir Akunis and Mrs. Adi Akunis.
