🔨🌿 Adventure Week 2 - Day 3: Stability & Structure! 🌿🔨

Today was another busy day of building, creating, and problem-solving! We started our morning by finishing our forts and making sure they were strong and secure. During our walk to check on the pond, we were excited to discover two more eggs, bringing our total to six!

Back at our forts, campers worked together to add roofs and natural materials to help protect their structures from the elements. We also learned about different hand tools and heavy machinery used in the construction world and discussed how each helps builders create safe and sturdy structures.

Before lunch, we spent some extra time journaling and created fun pop-up 3D structures to add to our journals. We reflected on our fort-building experience and discussed what we might improve if we were to build them again. The group also worked together to construct a farmhouse and enjoyed imaginative play with construction equipment.

In the afternoon, we kicked off a new challenge by starting our marble race courses! Using cardboard, paper towel tubes, and toilet paper rolls, campers used their creativity and engineering skills to design unique tracks. We can’t wait to continue building and test them out during tomorrow’s marble race!

We wrapped up the day with free building outdoors and a few energetic games of tag. Another great day of teamwork, creativity, and adventure!

🔨🌉 Adventure Week 2 – Day 2: Stability & Structure! 🌉🔨

Today was another exciting day of learning, building, and creating! We started our morning by painting the toolboxes we assembled yesterday, giving each one a unique and colorful touch. We also checked on our caterpillars and they have been growing so fast!🐛

Miss Kim then introduced a hands-on lesson about bridge design and engineering. Using milk crates, paper, cardboard, and canvas, campers explored how different materials support weight and learned what makes structures strong and stable. After discussing their ideas, each camper sketched a blueprint for their very own bridge design.

With plans in hand, we headed outside to gather natural materials and bring our blueprints to life. The best part? Every bridge was built independently with no teacher instructions—just creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork! Once completed, we put each bridge to the test with a weight challenge to see if toy cars could safely cross.

On our walk back, campers searched for rocks that resembled characters or objects to save for a future painting project. After washing up, we enjoyed walking tacos and veggies for lunch before taking time to journal and reflect on our day.

The afternoon was filled with even more building fun as campers created catapults using popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and spoons. We wrapped up the day by weaving a giant spider web from yarn between the trees and burning off some extra energy with an exciting game of Spider Tag!

Another fantastic day full of creativity, engineering, problem-solving, and outdoor adventure! We can’t wait to see what our campers build next! ☀️🌲🕷️

Adventure Week 2, Day 1 is off to a great start as we explore the concepts of structure and stability! 🏗️🌿

We started our morning by learning about different types of structures and discussing what makes them strong and stable. Campers sketched their own shelter and fort designs before deciding to test two different building methods—a square structure and a teepee-style shelter.

On our walk to the building site, we enjoyed seeing the cows up close, gathering natural materials for our forts, and checking on the duck eggs. We were excited to discover two new eggs this week! 🦆🥚

Once we arrived, campers split into groups with Miss Kim and Miss Olivia and spent most of the morning building their shelters. They worked hard creating strong foundations and making their structures taller and more secure.

After heading back for a delicious lunch of hot dogs and fruit, we spent some time journaling and discussing ways we could improve our forts. Campers then put their creativity to the test with mystery nature bags, using the materials inside to build unique creations.

To finish off the day, everyone worked together to build mini toolboxes from Lowe’s. The construction is complete, and tomorrow we’ll be painting and decorating them!

We can’t wait to continue building, creating, and learning tomorrow! 🔨✨

🌻🌿Adventure Week Day 4 🌿🌲

What an amazing way to wrap up our first week of Adventure Camp! While we’re sad to see our campers go, we are so grateful for all the memories we made together and hope to see everyone again soon!

We started our morning with a special treat—donuts from Kennedy—while learning all about food chains. The campers put their knowledge to work by creating their own food chains on paper and discussing how living things depend on one another in nature.

Next, creativity took over as we built fairy houses and bug homes for the mushroom garden. Some campers even worked together to create an impressive “bug hotel” for our tiny garden visitors!

One of the biggest highlights of the day was finally tackling the obstacle course. The campers showed incredible bravery, determination, and confidence as they faced challenges and conquered fears. During our adventure, we discovered a toad and named her Daisy! The campers were eager to make sure Daisy had a safe and comfortable habitat while she spent a little time with us.

The fun continued as everyone became junior chefs, making their own pancakes and helping prepare fresh fruit for lunch. Afterward, we spent time journaling and sharing our favorite memories from the week. It was wonderful hearing all the different adventures and lessons that stood out to each camper.

To finish our learning journey, the campers created habitats for our tadpoles and reflected on everything they had discovered throughout the week. We ended the day with a lively game of Capture the Flag and lots of smiles.

This week, our campers explored habitats, ecosystems, food chains, life cycles, and so much more. We are so proud of the curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and kindness they showed every day. Thank you for making Adventure Week such a success—we will miss this wonderful group of campers and can’t wait for future adventures together! 💚🌎✨

🌧️🐸 Adventure Week Day 3: Life Cycles & Tadpole Discoveries! 🐸🌧️

Today we hopped into the wonderful world of frogs and life cycles! We started our morning with a story about frogs and discussed the amazing ways they adapt to their environments. Then, everyone got a chance to observe our tadpoles, which we’ll continue watching as they grow and change over time.

To learn more about the frog life cycle, we completed a fun stamping activity showing the journey from tadpole to frog. We also took a walk to the pond, making a quick stop along the way to help care for nature by picking up trash in the woods. At the pond, we explored the habitat up close and discovered what makes it a great home for pond-life animals.

Back at the classroom, we all worked together to prepare a delicious grilled cheese lunch before spending time journaling about their day. Even though the rain joined us, that didn’t stop the fun! We splashed, explored, and embraced the adventure.

The afternoon was filled with creativity as campers made colorful leaf prints on fabric and transformed leaves into adorable frog creations. Rain or shine, our adventurers continue to learn, create, explore, and make unforgettable memories together! 🍃🎨🐸

Adventure Week 1 Day 2
Another fun day of Adventure Weeks at the Farm! 🌿🐛 Today we learned about ecosystems and why they are important. Campers created ecosystem jars, explored the sensory garden on a nature hunt, enjoyed Diary of a Worm with Miss Kim, and journaled about their favorite part of the day. We also got creative with watercolor nature print paintings before ending the day with an exciting game of Capture the Flag! 🌱🎨🚩

ADVENTURE CAMP DAY 1 was amazing! This week we are learning about habitats and ecosystems. Campers started with a nature walk to find items to make a bird nest. We stopped by and visited all of the animals along the way. Campers learned about what habitats and ecosystems are and the different types like burrows versus nests or webs. Then, our campers had a break in the sensory garden where Miss Olivia read them a book and they got to enjoy playing with 3 different sensory bins. After lunch, campers wrote in their journals, played tag, wrote their names out of nature items and lastly, we had reflection about what hapoened throughout the day. Day one was great and we are excited for day 2!
