We have attained 288 followers, a noteworthy achievement. Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 10:00 AM at The Klein Center, West Burlington. New members are encouraged to attend, and the discussion will focus on the newly developed retirement ceremony for nurses in the area.

Nursing tribute today at Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant for Sheila Kiesey RN. Sheila was born in Greenfield, Iowa. She later moved to Des Moines working for Iowa Lutheran Hospital in dialysis, earning her Bachelor is Science in Nursing before settling in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. There she built a long and meaningful career in healthcare, serving as Director of Southeast Renal Dialysis and managing multiple dialysis units, where she was a respected for both her leadership and compassion for patients. The following nurses volunteered in her tribute: Bev Schier, Dale Lesher, Chris Oleson, Janelle McGuire Melissa Hoppe, and PaulaMayhugh.

What an honor to attend Iowa Nurse Honor Guard mini- conference in Des Moines today! There were over 160 nurses who attended and it was so uplifting and we were able to share new ideas on how the NHG can participate in numerous activities in local communities!!

Great River Nurse Honor Guard tribute to Nancy Ann Conrad on May 3, 2026 at Elliott Chapel in New London. Nancy graduated from College of St Rose in 1955. She started her nursing career at Sloan Kettering in New York City. She worked for 31 years as an Associate Nursing Professor at Iowa Wesleyan College while continuing to work as a nurse in several different medical establishments. The following members of Great River Nurse Honor Guard participated in her tribute: Kay Overton, Sherry Siefken, Sherry Anderson, Laurie Parks, Susan Abbott, Barbara Blom, Kathy Baker, Sue Ferguson, Teresa McKelvey, Bev Schier, Melissa Hopp, and Barb Garcia.

Great meeting today! Our upcoming tributes are May 3 at 1430 and May 16th at 1000. I have 12 nurses signed up for May 3 and 10 for May 16th. Contact me via messenger, text etc if you also want to participate! 9 nurses attending Iowa Nurse Honor Guard mini- conference in Des Moines on May 12th. Our next meeting is 5-30-26.

Everyone is cordially invited to attend a meeting on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Klein Center. There are several important topics to cover. We currently have two tributes planned in Henry County for May that necessitate participant involvement. Furthermore, we will be visiting Des Moines on May 12, 2026, as Governor Reynolds will be declaring Iowa Nurse Honor Guard Day at the Capitol. Nurse Honor Guards are experiencing notable progress.
