๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโค๏ธ RED FRIDAY โ€“ REMEMBER EVERYONE DEPLOYED โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Every Friday, Americans across the nation wear red to show support for the brave men and women currently serving overseas. Red Friday stands for Remember Everyone Deployed, and serves as a reminder that while many enjoy the comforts of home, there are still service members standing watch around the world in defense of our freedoms.

The Lima American Legion Family proudly encourages our community to join us in this tradition every Friday.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ To those deployed: You are not forgotten.
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ To the families who stand beside them: We support you.
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ To our veterans and service members: Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication.

โค๏ธ Wear red.
๐Ÿ™ Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Remember Everyone Deployed.

From all of us in the Lima American Legion Family, thank you to all who serve and have served. Together, let us continue to honor those who are far from home and remind them that they are always in our hearts and never forgotten.

โค๏ธ Every Friday.
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Always.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ June is PTSD Awareness Month ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Some wounds are visible. Others are carried quietly.

This PTSD Awareness Month, the members of Lima American Legion Post 282 want every veteran, service member, and family member to know that you are never alone in your journey.

โญ Many of our brothers and sisters have faced challenges that others may never fully understand. Yet through compassion, understanding, and fellowship, we can remind one another that hope is stronger than despair and that healing is possible.

There is no shame in asking for help. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of courage.
Sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply check on a friend, listen without judgment, and let them know they matter.

๐ŸŽ–๏ธ As Legionnaires, we are called to "Be The One" to reach out, educate ourselves, and stand beside those who may be struggling. Together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and continue building a community where no one feels forgotten.

๐Ÿ“ž If you haven't heard from a fellow veteran in a while, give them a call. Stop by the Post. Invite them for coffee. Let them know they are valued, appreciated, and that their story is far from over.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Hope is real. Help is available. And brighter days are ahead.

โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™ Because no one should have to fight their battles alone. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™ At Post 282, we've shown time and time again that we are committed to making a difference in the fight against veteran su***de. Supporting our veterans and strengthening connections within our community is at the heart of everything we do.

๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ”ฅ What an incredible day! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŽฎ

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out on Saturday, 9/13, and helped make our very first Call of Duty Tournament a tremendous success!

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Sponsored by the Lima American Legion Post 282, this $1,000 Call of Duty Tournament brought together gamers, veterans, families, and supporters from across the region for an unforgettable day of competition and camaraderie. Seeing so many people come together and support this event was absolutely amazing.

โค๏ธ The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive.

One thing we heard time and time again from players stepping into an American Legion Post for the very first time was how welcomed they felt. As a Legion Post, that means the world to us. Creating a place where everyone feels welcome, valued, and part of something bigger is exactly what we strive to do, and we're proud that so many people experienced that firsthand.

๐Ÿš€ We also received plenty of great suggestions and ideas to make the next tournament even bigger and better. This was only the beginning, and we are excited about what the future holds.

๐Ÿค A special thank you to Livingston County, New York Veteran Services for their continued support and for always standing behind veterans and veteran-focused programs. Your commitment to our community does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for your partnership.

๐Ÿ’ป We would also like to give a huge shoutout to Chris Entxurage Earl and Regiment and a very special thank you to Arpit Manaktala and the entire team at Paradox Customs.

Your generosity, support, and willingness to help made a tremendous difference in the success of this event, and we truly appreciate everything you do for our veteran community.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Every computer seen in these photos was custom built by the team at Paradox Customs, and their craftsmanship and commitment have helped make our vision a reality.

๐ŸŽฎ But this tournament was about much more than gaming.

It was about bringing people together, creating friendships, strengthening camaraderie, and showing that no one has to stand alone. Seeing people travel from across the region, share laughs, compete, and simply enjoy being together was a powerful reminder of what community is all about.

๐ŸŒŸ What we witnessed on Saturday is exactly why we do this. By supporting events like these, you're helping create opportunities for connection, belonging, and support for veterans, families, and gamers alike.

Together, we're building something special, and we're just getting started.

โค๏ธ Thank you to everyone who believed in this event, supported our mission, and helped turn an idea into an unforgettable experience.

๐ŸŽฎ This was only the beginning. We can't wait to bring everyone together again for the next tournament and continue building something special with this community. ๐ŸŽฎ
