The first early bird raffle drawing will be held this coming Monday, May 25th (Memorial Day) at the Lima Volunteer Fire Department. Let me know if you want tickets!

Join us after the Memorial Day Parade—which concludes at the Town Hall with a service honoring those who have served and sacrificed—for a community gathering. The fire department will have the grill going, with hot dogs and refreshments available following the ceremony.

Come out to support the events, enjoy some food, buy a raffle ticket and take part in the early bird drawing. Tickets are selling faster than ever and we hope to see you there!

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of former Lima Volunteer Fire Department member. Tom Crego Sr. Tom was a well known servant to our community and a member of the Department's Fire Police for many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Crego family during this challenging time.

Last night members of the Lima Volunteer Fire Department practiced basic skills associated with aerial ladder emplacement, rescue, master stream operations, ground ladder raises and cutting / saw operations. From downed trees associated with weather events, or clearing trees as part of wildland fire operations or making holes in structures for ventilation or finding the fire, "cutting" is a common and critical task. With a variety of saw types, features, and techniques the training is important to ensure we are doing it safely and efficiently.
