🌼🕯💀🌼 ¡Feliz Día de los Mu***os! 🌼💀🕯️🌼
November 1–2 marks Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), a cherished Mexican tradition celebrating the lives and memories of loved ones who have passed away.
With roots in Indigenous Mesoamerican traditions and later influences from Catholic observances, Día de los Mu***os has evolved over centuries into a colorful celebration of remembrance, family, and cultural heritage. Families create beautiful ofrendas (altars) decorated with photographs, candles, marigolds (cempasúchiles), and favorite foods to honor those who are no longer with us.
Here in the Wenatchee Valley, where Hispanic and Latino families have helped shape our agricultural heritage, businesses, schools, and communities for generations, Día de los Mu***os holds special meaning. It offers an opportunity to recognize the rich cultural traditions that are part of our valley's identity and to celebrate the families who continue to share and preserve them.
At its heart, Día de los Mu***os reminds us that although our loved ones may be gone, their stories, traditions, and love live on through us. The Wenatchee Applarians honor the memories, cultures, and generations that make our valley such a special place to call home.
