FROM DREAM SPONSORS TO MY GIRL TRIBE™ ✨

Over the years, Dream Sponsors evolved from a sponsorship program supporting orphaned and vulnerable youth into something even bigger.

We learned that while education opens doors, girls also need confidence, mentorship, health education, leadership skills, and a strong support system to thrive.

What began with sponsorships for approximately 25 youth grew into a movement focused on empowering girls from the inside out.

Today, My Girl TRIBE™ has:
✨ Trained more than 65 indigenous female mentors
✨ Reached over 2,500 girls
✨ Expanded into four African countries
✨ Created a growing sisterhood of women and girls supporting one another

The mission may have grown, but the heart remains the same: helping young people discover their potential and pursue their dreams. ❤️🌍

THE BIRTH OF MY GIRL TRIBE™ ✨

Sometimes the greatest ideas come from listening.

After years of working with orphaned and vulnerable youth, our team saw a growing need to support girls beyond education. Girls needed tools to navigate life, build confidence, understand their health, and believe in their future.

Drawing on decades of experience in mental health, wellness, and community work, Carla Neumann and Carrie Masterson began developing what would become the My Girl TRIBE™ Inner Wellness Program.

The vision was simple:

✨ Empower girls from the inside out
✨ Build confidence and resilience
✨ Promote health and wellness
✨ Create supportive communities of women and girls

What started as an idea would eventually grow into a program reaching thousands of girls across Africa. ❤️🌍

WHY MY GIRL TRIBE WAS CREATED ✨

As Dream Sponsors grew, we recognized a heartbreaking reality.

Many of the girls we supported were leaving school due to early pregnancy, forced marriage, and challenges that education support alone could not solve.

We realized girls needed more than sponsorships.

They needed:
✨ Mentorship
✨ Life skills
✨ Health education
✨ Confidence
✨ Safe spaces to grow and lead

This realization became the foundation for My Girl TRIBE™, a program designed to empower girls from the inside out through inner wellness, leadership development, and sisterhood.

What started as educational sponsorship evolved into helping girls discover their voice, value, and potential. ❤️🌍

THE CHILDREN WHO INSPIRED US ✨

While Dream Sponsors began with a mission to support orphaned and vulnerable youth, it was the children themselves who shaped our journey.

Their resilience, determination, kindness, and hope inspired us every step of the way.

Over the years, approximately 25 youth received educational sponsorships and support for basic needs. Some went on to complete secondary school, vocational training, and higher education.

Every child had a story.
Every child had dreams.
Every child mattered.

Their courage reminded us why this work was important and continues to inspire us today. ❤️🌍

BUILDING THE TEAM ✨

No dream becomes reality alone.

As Dream Sponsors grew, so did the team of dedicated volunteers, board members, community leaders, sponsors, and supporters who believed in the mission.

From Kenya to the United States and beyond, people brought their unique skills, experiences, and passion to help create opportunities for orphaned and vulnerable youth.

What started with a conversation between Carla and Fiston became a global community united by one belief:

As Dream Sponsors grew, we realized that school fees alone were not enough.

Many of the girls we supported faced challenges beyond the classroom, including early pregnancy, forced marriage, poverty, and limited opportunities.

We learned that girls needed more than educational support.

As Dream Sponsors grew, we learned an important lesson:

The children, families, and communities we met in Kenya taught us about resilience, gratitude, perseverance, and hope in the face of tremendous challenges.

They reminded us that real change happens through relationships, listening, and working together.

Those lessons helped shape not only Dream Sponsors, but eventually the vision for My Girl TRIBE™.
