The Rotary Club of Weirton was honored to hear from Marilyn Charnie, community Breadbasket President and Jeanie Montgomery,CBB administrator. With the help of many (especially Mr. Beynon). The Bread Basket is now located in the former Wesbanco building on Main St Weirton. Previous to the move they were providing 800 families with food now that number is over a thousand. Families can get food once a month and sign they are not going to multiple locations. Of course expenses of the building are much higher especially utilities so any and all help would be appreciated. The Rotary Club of Weirton enjoyed hearing from Joe Carr who works for Premium Guard of Weirton. Last year they purchased the Rue 21 building and are now a warehouse for their main company that makes and buys car and truck filters with this being the main division that ships to Canada. Other divisions in the Us manufacture and purchase filters for the USA. They currently employ 60 people and are looking to expand to 100 over the next year. Pay is competitive to Amazon and they are looking for good people to hire. Great company for Weirton and the USA. In the Photo is Eric Waggoner, Rotarian and sponsor of Taylor Bernard our newest member and Joe Carr.

The Rotary Club of Weirton recently had the pleasure of hearing
from Donna Anderson Offutt , the director of Tolrem Automation and Controls
Donna spoke about automation in Australia's mining industry and also touched on the relaxed lifestyle and the unique animals found in central Queensland. Donna’s talk about Australia was really fascinating and made us all want to visit. Pictured is Rotarian Carolyn Anderson and our speaker and her sister Donna, originally from Weirton.
