Thank you to everyone who was able to come out & show support to our fundraiser yard sale yesterday, and today for our “open farm” event!
💚🐷🐣
Both events were a success in our eyes!! A special thank you to the heros of the day- (our volunteers).. Justin, Keenan, Kendall, Joey, and Abbie for working so hard all weekend to make sure everything ran smoothly!

We said hello to many old friends, and met a lot of really great new friends- including many wonderful neighbors!
We even had a neighbor tell us she had no idea we were back here (our property sits way back from the road), and a couple new followers said they would be back to our next event!

Speaking of which… mark those calendars.. next open farm will be the 2nd weekend in September- Sept. 12th and 13th!
This time we’re going to flip it around a bit.. the OPEN FARM will be on SATURDAY, Sept. 12th from 10-4, and the YARD SALE will then be on SUNDAY, Sept. 13th from 9-3. 😊

We’ve had a few people say they couldn’t attend one day or the other for various reasons, so each fundraiser weekend will be flip flopped from now on so that everyone has the chance to attend!

Side note: also, wanted to mention, I do work 2 jobs now to support the sanctuary. I get zero “days off” unless requested. So private visits/tours of the farm are VERY limited at this time. So if there is an animal you’d love to visit or if you just want a farm day, please do plan on marking those calendars for September 13th!

“Storybook’s Open Farm” is going on now until 4:00!
🐷🐱🐔🐣🐗🐑🦃🐾

It’s a hot day, but lots of pretty sunshine ☀️- and we have already had a few people stop by!
Come say hi to the animals, & meet our newest residents Walter the emu and Sunday the lamb!
Entry is just a $10 donation per vehicle!
We also have ice cold pop & water and animal treat bags available for just a $1 donation!

We look forward to saying hi to many of you today! 😄

Had the sweetest little helper today at our first ever Storybook Farm yard sale fundraiser! Grammy’s girl, Allie, was all smiles!
Special shoutout to my brothers, Keenan & Justin, at Black Cat Greenery for hugely helping to organize this event!

We were able to take today’s proceeds and purchase two days of food for the sanctuary! (Yes, that first picture is TWO days of food- not including hay!)

We look forward to hopefully seeing many of you tomorrow for our “open farm” event!
Gates open at 10 a.m., and entry fee is just a $10 per vehicle donation. (Unless you’ve donated within the past 4 months- in which entry is FREE!).

As you can see, your support is SO appreciated and needed!

Our fundraiser yard sale is underway!!!
We’ve said hello to some of our wonderful neighbors, (finally met a new neighbor, who is so sweet.. AND- rescues!!!), had salon clients stop by, co-workers stop by, and have met some great people!

The day is still young!!
Come on out & say hello to Sunday the lamb and friends, (and us too, lol) and find some treasures to take home for a good cause!!
Also grab a cold pop or water- it’s a hot one! ☀️

Some of you who have been following our journey for years may have seen this guy.. this is Shiro.. former pup of our’s and our boy Willow’s brother/littermate.

Shiro was raised on our farm as a pup- and now is RETURNING with his siblings (and also former pups) Puca & Nanuq- as my brothers are buying the property just in front of us!

Now instead of 7 Eskies running around here- there will be TEN!
😂😂😂 .Just call us The Story Book Eskie Farm! 🤣

P.S… and all these years later, he jumped right up on the truck by the hay- seems he’s ready to be back to being a farm dog! 💚

Walter & Sydney were waiting for me at the gate tonight. 💚
Sydney either looks like she’s smiling or irritated that dinner is late, I haven’t decided which. 😂

Did you know?..

Female emu are bigger than males- both taller & wider bodied. (You can see that in this pic here).
Female emu also “drum”- (some of you have heard Syd do this), but males cannot.
Also.. unlike chickens and most other birds, male emu are the ones who hatch the eggs and raise the babies!
Now there is some emu Jeopardy trivia you know now! 😁

Greetings from our newest member of our farm family, Walter!

You can meet Walter in person this Sunday, June 14th, from 10-3 at our open farm event!
Meet Walter, say hello to fellow emu Sydney, spend some time with Ice Cream our pony and crew, meet “bottle baby” lamb Sunday, feed treats to big Winston and all the pigs, or hang out with O’Malley and the “big guys” (our steer), and the rest of the whole crew!
If you’ve donated to the sanctuary within the past four months and up until the event, admission is free!
Otherwise, it’s just a $10 donation per vehicle to attend!

Also!!! Don’t forget our fundraiser yard sale this Saturday, June 13th! All proceeds go directly to the sanctuary residents and their needs! 💚

We look forward to seeing many of you next weekend!
