🐾 Today, on National Police K9 Day, we honor the four-legged heroes who serve alongside law enforcement with courage, instinct and unwavering dedication.

At the Jimmy Ryce Center, K9s are at the heart of our mission. For decades, we have provided specially trained bloodhounds to law enforcement agencies, helping give officers a powerful tool when every second matters in the search for a missing child or endangered person.

Today, we salute these extraordinary K9s and their dedicated handlers who answer the call and help bring the missing home 🐾💙

🚨 MISSING TEEN — PLEASE SHARE 🚨

The Jimmy Ryce Center joins National Center for Missing & Exploited Children
(NCMEC) and the Venice Police Department in asking for the public’s help locating 15-year-old Anabella Saben, missing from Venice, Florida, since August 15.

Anabella is 5’0”, 105 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. Her family has had no communication with her and is extremely concerned for her safety.

Her father’s message: “Anabella, we love and miss you so much. We are not angry. We just want you home and safe. Please reach out.”

She may still be in the Venice area or could have traveled elsewhere in Florida.

Please share and help bring Anabella home.

Twenty years ago, the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act became law — a milestone born from one family’s unimaginable loss and decades of determination to protect other children.

John and Revé Walsh turned the tragedy of losing their 6-year-old son, Adam, into a movement that forever changed how our nation searches for missing children, pursues those who prey upon them and supports families facing the unthinkable. Their advocacy helped create the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and inspired protections that continue saving lives today.

At the Jimmy Ryce Center, their story resonates deeply. Like Adam’s parents, Don and Claudine Ryce transformed profound personal loss into a lifelong mission to help ensure another family would not endure what theirs did.

As we recognize the 20th anniversary of the Adam Walsh Act, we honor Adam’s memory, the extraordinary legacy his parents created, and the law enforcement partners — including the U.S. Marshals Service — who carry that mission forward every day.

In recognition of the 20th anniversary of the Adam Walsh Act, the U.S. Marshals Service conducted Operation Adam’s Watch, honoring Adam Walsh’s legacy and reaffirming the commitment to protecting communities through strong law enforcement partnerships and accountability.

The multi-week operation, conducted with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners across the nation, resulted in the arrest of more than 330 fugitives wanted for s*x offender registration violations, s*x assault, and other s*x offenses.

The U.S. Marshals Service remains dedicated to locating and apprehending fugitives who pose a threat to public safety.

A huge congratulations to K-9 Bo and Sgt. Rowland of the Gastonia Police Department after locating a missing 11-year-old this past weekend.

Every successful track is a reminder of why these remarkable dogs are so important. They bring hope when every second matters and help reunite families during some of the most frightening moments of their lives.

Way to go, Bo! Thank you to your handler and everyone involved in this successful search. 💙🐶

Officials say the Belmont Police Department requested Bo’s bloodhound tracking abilities to find the child.

At just 7 months old, Bloodhound Zena, with Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, proved that age is no match for instinct, training and determination.

When 91-year-old Ramon Fitts, who was living with Alzheimer’s disease, disappeared from his West Virginia home, Zena was deployed with only a scent article to guide her. She tracked more than 1.1 miles through neighborhoods, parking lots and city streets before giving a final alert that led responders to Mr. Fitts, safe and waiting on a porch.

Today, Zena and her handler, Deputy J.H. Lipps, average two missing or endangered person calls each month—and every one has ended with a safe recovery.

At the Jimmy Ryce Center, we couldn’t be prouder of Zena and the incredible work of the law enforcement teams who partner with our bloodhounds. Every successful track represents hope, every recovery means a family is reunited, and every deployment reminds us why this mission matters.

Ellie, a man-trailing bloodhound with the Grant County Sheriff's Office - Marion, IN, has been missing since being spooked by gunfire or an explosive sound. She was last seen in the 9000 block of 300 West in Grant County, near the Miami County line.

If you’re in the Converse, Sweetser, Swayzee, or Oak Hill High School areas, please keep an eye out.

📍 If you see Ellie, call Grant County 911 Non-Emergency: 765-668-8168, and share her location and direction of travel.

We join the Osceola County Sheriff's Office in mourning the loss of K-9 Athena.

Athena was more than a bloodhound—she was a lifesaver. With unwavering determination, she followed every trail with one purpose: bringing missing children, vulnerable adults, and loved ones home.

Our hearts are with Deputy Luis Morales-Torres, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and everyone who had the privilege of serving alongside her. The bond between a handler and a K-9 partner is unlike any other, and today we grieve alongside them.

Thank you, Athena, for every mile you tracked, every life you helped save, and every family you helped reunite.

End of Watch. Rest easy, sweet girl. Your legacy will never be forgotten. 🐾
