Did you know that there is a right way to handle your American flag when it has become tattered and torn? When you take the flag down it should be folded, given to your local VFW or American Legion where they will respectfully burn it, bury it in a box, or if it’s made from a synthetic fabric that may give off toxins if burned, the blue star field will be dissembled from the stripes and either recycled or buried appropriately. The flag of the United States should never be thrown away or burned where it touches the ground. Flag day is June 14th and
this is the day flags are disposed of appropriately.
