A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who attended the fourth and final workshop in our series hosted by Grandparents Raising Grandchildren South Central MA and facilitated by Beth Bergstrom of PPAL!

We are so grateful for the wonderful group of grandparents, kinship caregivers, and supportive family members who participated, shared their experiences, asked thoughtful questions, and helped create a welcoming and encouraging space for one another. Your dedication to the children in your care and your willingness to connect with fellow caregivers made this series truly special.

As we head into summer, don't forget about our upcoming Yard Sale being held on Sunday, June 14th at 23 Joe Jenny Road in Oxford, and our rescheduled Cookout (date to be determined)—we hope to see many of you there!

While our monthly meetings at the high school will pause for the summer, they will resume in the fall. In the meantime, stay tuned for updates on our summer support group meetings, including a new location, day, and time.

Thank you for being part of our GRG community. Together, we continue to learn, grow, and support one another every step of the way. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

🚨 LAST DAY TO RSVP! 🚨

We need to hear from you TODAY for our End-of-School-Year Grandfamily Cookout on Saturday, June 13th!

Unfortunately, if we do not receive enough responses, the event will have to be canceled. We would hate to see that happen because this day is all about celebrating our amazing grandfamilies and giving our children a chance to connect with others who truly understand their journey.

💙 One of the most meaningful parts of this event is helping the children we are raising see that they are not alone. Many of our grandchildren carry experiences they didn't choose and circumstances beyond their control. Spending time with other grandfamilies helps them build friendships, feel understood, and recognize that there are other kids walking a similar path.

🎉 There will be plenty for children of all ages to enjoy, including:
✅ A trampoline
✅ Outdoor games and activities
✅ Time to play, laugh, and make new friends
✅ Great food and fellowship for the whole family

🍔 Books Closed, Burgers Open! 🌞

Join us as we celebrate the start of summer with grandparents, grandchildren, and kinship families from across our community.

🥗 Potluck Cookout — Please bring a main dish, side, dessert, or drinks to share.

📅 Saturday, June 13th
⏰ 12:30 PM
📍 23 Joe Jenny Road, Oxford, MA

Please RSVP today so we can determine whether we have enough families to move forward with this special event.

Let's give our kids a day filled with fun, connection, and the reminder that they are part of a larger community that cares. 💛

📢 Attention Grandparents Raising Grandchildren & Kinship Caregivers! 📢

Join us this Wednesday, June 10th, for the final workshop in our 4-part Mental Health Series, hosted by PPAL. This month's topic is:

"Moving to Young Adult Life: Transition Planning and Post-Secondary Options"

🕤 9:30–10:30 AM
📍 Oxford High School Community Room
100 Carbuncle Drive, Oxford, MA

We are also pleased to welcome Bianca Dominguez, an Occupational Therapy student from Boston University, as our guest for the day. Bianca is completing her capstone project focused on supporting grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. She is interested in learning directly from caregivers about their experiences, challenges, and the resources they use to support their families. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your voice and help inform future services for grandparent caregivers.

Whether you've attended every session or are joining us for the first time, we welcome you to come learn, connect, and gather valuable information to support the young people in your care.

Please note that this workshop will also be our last Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) meeting of the school year. We are currently exploring options for summer gatherings and will keep everyone updated regarding any summertime GRG support group meetings, contingent upon venue availability.

No registration is required—just drop in!

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday and thank you for being part of our GRG community throughout the school year. 💙

🌧️ We are trying to have a yard sale, we really are… 😅
This weather has been absolutely relentless and has thrown every possible wrench into our plans for the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Fundraising Yard Sale. Weeks of scheduling, prepping, organizing — all at the mercy of rain clouds that apparently have a personal vendetta.

But here’s the good news:
Unless the forecast suddenly calls for a hurricane or a snowstorm, we are DEFINITELY setting up at French River Park tomorrow — Sunday, May 31st — from 9am to 3pm.

We’re talking rain-or-shine determination (within reason, of course).
We’ve put too much heart into this fundraiser to let a few stubborn clouds stop us.

Come by, say hi, shop a little, support a great cause, and help us make the best of this wild New England weather rollercoaster.

☀️🌦️ See you tomorrow at French River Park!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Mental Health IEP Workshop, which was facilitated by Zach from PPAL (Parent Professional Advocacy League). Your presence, your questions, and your willingness to learn and support one another made the room feel powerful.

As grandparents raising grandchildren, you carry so much — and still you show up with strength, love, and determination. Today reminded us that we are not alone, and that together we can advocate, navigate, and uplift our children in ways that truly matter.

I’m grateful for every one of you who shared your time and your heart. I’m looking forward to seeing you all next month (Wednesday, June 10th @9:30am). And as we wrap up this series, remember that our last workshop will be next month — we’re truly looking forward to gathering with all of you again.

🌟 Calling all Grandparents Raising Grandchildren & Kinship Caregivers! 🌟

As part of my graduate studies, my team and I are conducting a short survey to better understand the real experiences, needs, and challenges of grandparents and kinship caregivers who are stepping up in such powerful ways.

Your voice matters. In fact, it’s the foundation we’ll use to shape a new storefront Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) Support Group right here in the community. The more we learn from you, the better we can build meaningful, practical support that truly reflects what families need.

If you’re a grandparent or kinship caregiver, or you know someone who is, please take a few minutes to fill out the survey and share it forward. Your insight will help us create something that makes a real difference. 💛

Thank you for helping us support the caregivers who support everyone else.

Thank you for your time to participate in this survey. We hope to be able to update and improve our organization in order to better serve our community. Please answer the questions to the best of your ability and provide honest answers so we may better connect yourself, or others to more resources.
