🎃👻 A MONSTER MASH OF A GOOD TIME! 👻🎃

This past Saturday afternoon, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren South Central MA hosted our 2nd Annual Halloween Party, and what a SPOOKTACULAR afternoon it was! 🧡🖤

A HUGE shoutout to our very own Bonnie Currie, the hostess with the mostest! Bonnie graciously opened her home and backyard to not only our grandparents raising grandchildren and kinship families, but to the entire community as well! And let's just say, it was a Monster Mash of Graveyard Smash proportions! 🧟‍♀️🦇

From bobbing for apples and sack races to pumpkin painting, games, laughter, and enough goodies to make any little ghost or goblin happy, there was something for everyone!

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the generosity of our local businesses and community supporters. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Foppema's Farm in Whitinsville, Woodstock Orchards in Woodstock, CT, Kelly's Farm in Upton, and the many others who generously donated pumpkins, treats, goodies, and supplies to help make this day so special. Your kindness and generosity remind us just how fortunate we are to be part of such a caring community. ❤️

And to everyone who volunteered their time, helped with activities, set up, cleaned up, or simply showed up to share in the fun, THANK YOU! These events don't happen without people willing to give a little of themselves to bring happiness to others.

📸 They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if that's true, the pictures captured by Heidi Pizzotti tell a story of pure joy, laughter, excitement, and complete happiness! Thank you, Heidi, for capturing so many wonderful moments and memories!

For those of us raising grandchildren, these gatherings are about so much more than pumpkins, candy, and Halloween costumes. They're about building connections, creating memories, giving our children a sense of belonging, and reminding grandparents and kinship caregivers that they are not alone on this journey, and judging by the smiles on everyone's faces, I'd say we accomplished exactly that! 🧡

We’re here to spread the word about who we are, what we do, and why our mission matters so much! ❤️ We support grandparents and other family members who have stepped up to raise their grandchildren, often facing unexpected challenges while doing everything they can to give these children a loving, stable home.

We’re also collecting monetary donations to help us continue supporting these amazing families and making a difference in the lives of the children we’re raising. Every dollar helps, and every bit of support means more than you know! 🙏💜

💜 Come join me and my fellow grandparents raising grandchildren for some FREE pizza, a few fun raffle prizes, plenty of conversation, and LOTS of shared experiences!

Raising grandchildren isn't always easy, and sometimes the greatest comfort comes from sitting around a table with people who truly understand the challenges, frustrations, joys, and unexpected twists that come with raising a second generation.

No presentations, no pressure, no judgment—just good company, good conversation, and a chance to connect with others walking a similar path. ❤️

Whether you're a grandparent, relative caregiver, or kinship family, we'd love to see you!

Our hope is that today's gathering will be the beginning of something wonderful—a regular place for grandparents and caregivers in the Webster community and surrounding towns to find friendship, encouragement, resources, and support.

💕 You don't have to do this alone, and you certainly don't have to have all the answers! Sometimes just knowing someone else understands makes all the difference.

🎃 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR 2ND ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY! 👻🧡

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren South Central MA is getting ready for our 2nd Annual Halloween Party, and we could use a few extra helping hands to make the day fun and memorable for our families!

📅 Saturday, October 17, 2026
⏰ 2:00–6:00 PM
🌧️ Rain Date: Sunday, October 18

We’re looking for volunteers who can help with setting up before the party, assisting with activities and games during the event, helping at craft and activity tables, keeping things organized, and breaking everything down afterward.

Whether you can stay for the entire event or only give us an hour or two, we would be incredibly grateful for the help! 💜

Our Halloween Party is completely FREE for our grandparents, kinship caregivers, and children, and volunteers are a huge part of making events like this possible.
