The Webster County Commission held a special emergency meeting on Wednesday, where commissioners accepted the resignations of three Economic Development Authority (EDA) members.

Webster County Community:

It is with great regret to inform you that I will be leaving the post of Director, Webster County EDA, effective August 31st, 2026. While I took this job approximately six years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the role, I realize that the current environment is not conducive to moving our projects nor the county forward and I believe that this discord has detracted significantly from the work we have been doing, to say nothing of the costs of the efforts to defend our positions.

This current County Commission certainly has other intentions for the direction of the EDA and I do not believe those plans include me staying in the post.

I have accepted a position with another company and while I am looking forward to this next chapter and utilizing my past experiences and skills, I will certainly miss the work of the EDA, its members, and to helping drive infrastructure, beautification, tourism centric and affordable housing projects that could benefit the entire county, improve our infrastructure and lay the groundwork for attracting new businesses.

I also do not want our current EDA Board, along with other active board members of the past, nor the communities, to forget some of the really positive projects and efforts we have accomplished together:
• B&O Pond Project
• Water Projects for Guardian and Diana
• High Speed Broadband
• Establishment of the Convention and Visitors Bureau
• Establishment of the Dilapidated Building Project and its many successes
• The Timber Heritage Museum
• The sale of the MonPower building and repayment of the loans of the Cowen Business Park
• The sale of land to make possible the Apartment Complex at the Business Park
• Small Business Grants
• Beautification Grants
• Land Purchase and planning for a 55 and Over Housing Community

While this is not an all inclusive list, it certainly highlights a lot of the good things we have been able to accomplish with not a lot of money and some really dedicated board members and for that, I am truly grateful. I feel that we have absolutely nothing to regret and am so very proud of the good work that we have done.
