Sunday update:
We received some sad news that the lil dood that we worked so hard the past few days to coordinate transport and a foster, we received new late last night that he was stolen/taken from the yard they were holding him and no where to be found 😭😭 I’ve just been sick about the whole situation! My prayers for this lil dood is either his owner found him and just went and got him back and he’s safe! The good Lord had different plans for this lil guy and it wasn’t in the plan for him to come here. I’m sad but also grateful for all the folks that stepped up to help! This is RESCUE, it def takes a village to figure out all the moving parts! With YOU ALL sharing and getting the message out WE did just that…WE got it all coordinated and for THAT I am grateful even though the lil dood isn’t coming…BUT there WILL be others needing our help I sure!
Now, we need to get a few doods set up with fosters, 4 have appts set up to be spayed/neutered then they will be ready for adoption!
The GREAT news for today is Sunny girl found her FURever family and we are excited and happy for her, so today was not at all a loss!! 🫶🙏🐾🐩

Fridays update!! We have everything nailed down! This sweet boy should be arrive in Wford Sunday afternoon if all goes well! PTL for the sweet volunteer that is going to pick him up and for the sweet lady that has agreed to foster this boy 🫶🙏🙌 🐩🐾🐾🐩🐩

Update 🙏🙏🙏 we have a gracious volunteer that has stepped up to go do the “pick up” NOW we are trying to coordinate and get it set!

Anyone I know going to be in the panhandle area of Dimmitt TX coming back to Weatherford TX Sunday?? Have a Doodle that is in huge need to get out of there to a rescue due to area shelters can only house 3 days before they are euthanized!!

This is a SOS 911 plea!!

Sweet Charlie boy 😍 since he had to be all shaved down and felt a little naked, we found him a shirt to wear to help him feel covered and cozy. Although I think he’s def got that “dood” stank eye that he’s giving me 🫣🐩🐾 he’s doing well and he’s not as dehydrated as he was when he got here. His infection on his lil paws looks SO much better. We will get some weight on him slowly due to how malnourished he is he’s eating multiple small meals a day to get his tummy to know good food and not inhale it cause he hasn’t known when he’d eat again out on his own, but now he’s learning he’s safe, getting fed and loved on!

I can not thank everyone enough for the sweet comments of encouragement today, the sharing of our page and what we do here and the love we have for these sweet souls to get them healed and to find their perfect FURever family! We have had enough donations to get Charlie his special food, pay for his vetting and to get healed up. I can not say enough THANK YOU’S! My cup is running over with gratitude! Bless you all and thank GOD for DOOD lovers who have helped today! Many blessings to you all!

One less DOOD on the street and getting healed up!

***Full transparency here and not sugarcoated…
This weekend has been rough in the whole scheme of things for the rescue.
I started this rescue with high hopes and probably too high of expectations of others “thinking” that people would “jump” in to help and have been incredibly wrong.

People tagging you daily with Doods in trouble, needing help or texting you with more Doods and honestly I want to help! However, I ALONE can NOT SAVE them all! People WANT you to but NO ONE wants to help foster. I CAN NOT ethically and morally give these doods enough love, care and of my own finances the decent new start that they deserve by ME ALONE fostering all these Doods! I have A full time job, a part time job AND trying to run a rescue appropriately, ethically and the right way! But AGAIN I CAN NOT do this alone. This rescue can not continue without proper foster homes and resources to properly fund their care.
I am a small rescue with way too big of a heart BUT I also KNOW my limits and boundaries.
As of today our intake is CLOSED until more fosters and donations come in that can take care of the 9 NINE fosters I currently have. This is a difficult decision, however I also need to be realistic in the fact that NO ONE wants to help!
If you’d like to help foster, GREAT please fill out a foster application on our website. If you’d like to donate even 5 bucks that is AWESOME go to our website and it’s easy as well as you will get a return email as a tax write off for your donations.
I apologize if this comes across as “harsh” but rescue is HARD! It’s not easy to keep your head up without proper support. I am trying but I am EXTREMELY beat down and discouraged.

Hey my fb friends!

Do you have 14 yr olds and up needing community service hours for school or organizations and have experience with doggos?!?

Dood Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary, INC. is a 501c3 and need volunteers for dog walkers, water bowl clean out, pooper scoopers for the summer. They need to be familiar with dogs and understand these babies need love and patience to help get them ready for their new homes.

Please DM me and we can discuss and see if this would work out for the rescue as well as them getting their hours in. Availability would be in the evenings after 5pm to about 8pm when sun goes down or 10-12 or 5pm-8pm Sat or Sunday!

Charlie’s story and how our day started which was eventful for a holiday, we were called by a sweet family that helped save him from the busy road of Hwy 180 between Polos Mexican food and Victory Baptist church. Of course we wanted to help!
The before pictures where it shows his horrible shape of his coat, with sticker bushes literally stuck to him. 😭
We knew he was in pain and put out an SOS knowing it’s a holiday, but in hopes we could find someone willing to help us get him shaved down and cleaned up! The amazing moms group here in Wford helped us find an amazing lady, Kendra Dickerson willing to come help sweet Charlie get cleaned up. This sweet lady worked for HOURS, pulling 40+ fox tails embedded in his skin 😳 and in between his toes in his paws…PLUS one maggot…YES, that’s what I said 🤢! This sweet boy sat through all of this being all courageous!! We want to thank Kendra for her heart and willingness to help sweet Charlie!
We will take him to the vet tomorrow because we know he’s going to need some antibiotics for some infections he has on his paws. But he will get the care he needs!
We still don’t know if he has a family, no one has reached out yet with our post, but he isn’t chipped, that has been confirmed. But sweet Charlie man is safe and now sleeping on a soft cozy bed, his belly is full, and he’s in good hands 🫶🙏❤️‍🩹

Hey Wford peeps! This sweet guy was found on Hwy 180 (Ft Worth Hwy) this morning by some sweet people and he’s not chipped! Please share and see if this poor guy has a home and is being looked for?? He is safe here at the rescue and we will work to get all the sticker bushes out of him today! Please share and see if he has a family!?!? Tysm!
