We are also a non-profit organization with educational outreach programs. Come visit our non-profit, International Fair Trade Marketplace in historic downtown Waukesha, and support our mission of "Creating a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world through socially responsible shopping and transformative educational experiences.โ
Plowshare was the 1st brick and mortar Fair Trade store in Wiscon
sin! Since 1990 we have provided a global marketplace for unique handcrafted gifts from over 30 developing nations of Asia, Africa and the Americas. Fair living wages are paid directly to the artisans, allowing them to obtain basic needs for themselves and their families: food, health care and education. These unique items are often made with natural materials, reflecting the countries in which they were made. Many of our artisans are women who belong to fair trade cooperatives. Every time you purchase a gift from Plowshare, you are also giving the gift of true sustainable support for the artisans and their families. We gladly take these one-of-a-kind products on the road for off-site sales and programs at churches, schools, conferences and fairs to help promote awareness of fair trade.
