Recently, the Monterey County COAD assisted in facilitating an emergency air resources drill with Cal DART (California Disaster Air Resources Team).

This exercise supports distribution of emergency supplies in the event of disrupted services during a disaster. The 2026 drill consisted of multiple deliveries of food and other household supplies in an effort to practice coordination, communication and rapid response.

The Monterey County COAD wrapped up 2025 with our quarterly convening, a table top drill at the County’s Department of Emergency Management, and the Pajaro Community Preparedness Fair.

Kicking off 2026, we recently participated in a demonstration for new flood water management resources coming to Monterey County. Tiger Dams are stackable, water-filled tubes that can be quickly deployed to help divert or block flood water.
