Check out the challenge classes for this year's fair! Challenge classes are open to the public and will be judged on Sunday, July 19th from 11:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

🎨 Iowa Wood Art Challenge: Grab your Iowa wood cutout and unleash your creativity! Contact the Extension Office for a cutout.
🎂 Ugly Cake Challenge: Use your cake decorating skills to create the ugliest cake you've ever seen!
🧑‍🎨 Button Challenge: Create a unique art piece out of buttons! This class is sponsored by the Black Hawk Button Club. Contact the Extension Office for a button kit.
📸 Photo Challenge: This year's theme is family! Submit your photo in color or black and white, focus on lighting and backgrounds, and use sizes 5x7" or 8x10".

Calling all Junior 4-H members! 📣 Go for the Green this summer at Junior 4-H Camp! 📣

When: Wednesday, August 5th
Drop Off: 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.
Pick Up: 7:45 - 8:00 p.m.
Where: Ingawanis Adventure Base in Waverly
Registration fee: $110 (financial assistance is available!)

Applications are now open for the Fair King, Queen, and Little Miss Contest at the Black Hawk County 4-H & FFA Fair!

This is a great opportunity for eligible youth to practice their communication skills and make new connections! The 2026 County Fair Queen will also go on to compete at the 2026 Iowa State Fair Queen Contest in August!

Get the answers to these questions and more during Conservation Careers, presented by the Wildlife Adventures 4-H Club!

Join the virtual meeting on May 30th from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. to hear from conservation professional Ethan Thies!
👉 Ethan is a former Conservation Field Specialist with ISU Extension & Outreach and currently serves as the Central Iowa Basin Coordinator with the Iowa DNR! He will share all about his career path, how to get involved with careers in conservation, and answer any questions!

Join Us in Giving Back! 🍀💚

Iowa 4-H is collecting new, travel-size hygiene items to support families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities. Donations will be assembled into hygiene kits by Iowa 4-H Youth Conference delegates during a statewide service-learning experience.

Drop-off to the Black Hawk County Extension Office by June 8th!
