During a recent conversation with Administrative Personnel from the Amityville Coalition for the Homeless, the members from Huntington Lodge learned of their desperate need for new, warm winter clothing for both men and women, as well as young children. With this in mind, and through the use of the funds provided by the Beacon Grant, $240 worth of coats and jackets, flannel shirts, sweaters, and appropriate baby clothing were purchased and delivered to the "Coalition for the Homeless" in Amityville for their distribution. The attached photo shows the Coalition's representative, Judy, gratefully accepting this donation.

Huntington Lodge #1565- During a recent change in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
(SNAP) Program, the government's share of SNAP administrators' costs fell from 50% to 25%, resulting in an increase in hardships for vulnerable families. This additional strain has been very noticeable at the various food pantries within the Huntington area, and with this in mind, the members of Huntington Lodge purchased $100+ worth of breakfast and dinner non-perishables, including pancake and waffle mix, cereal, oatmeal, pasta, and sauces and promptly delivered all items to the Long Island Cares facility in Huntington Station. Pictured here is "Larry", a worker at the pantry, as he happily accepts our donation.
