Prayer Warriors, I ask that you would keep Pastor Tom Miller and his family in your prayers as he faces bypass heart surgery tomorrow.

Let us reflect on the 27th Psalm, particularly verses 1-6.

The Lord is My Salvation

1 {A Psalm of David.} The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

Greetings from the Cowboy State. My name is Pastor Galen, I’m from Cheyenne, Wyoming, and we are so honored to be a part of raising up our nation in prayer and praying for our leaders, praying for local leaders, praying for our teachers. I’d like for you to pray with me.

Father in Heaven, I do thank You so much for our leaders of our nation, for the decisions they have to make right now are so important, and we just pray that You’re a part of every one of those decisions. God, that You would be around those tables in wisdom, around those tables with discernment, and guiding our leaders to make some very crucial decisions that affect the whole world.

Father, we also pray for those that are being elected in this next election. Some very important roles are going to be filled, and I do pray, God, that Your will would be done in these elections, in this election cycle.

Lord, finally, I pray for the teachers that are going to be teaching our kids, I pray for their rest and their relaxation this summer, and, Lord, that they would be refreshed and renewed to go into the classrooms and to be able to teach and lead our young people so well. God, I lift up our teachers to You. I pray for the school boards that make some very important decisions on a local level.

Father, as we intercede on behalf of our nation, we understand that we’re a sinful people that need Your great grace, and, God, I just pray that You would bless our nation.

We would ask You for Your favor, and I pray these things in Jesus’ Name, amen.

Hi, my name is Pastor Matt Morton from Wisconsin. Let’s pray.

Father in Heaven, You are the God over all the nations. You enlarge nations and You disperse them as well. Every nation on Earth, including our own, belongs to You.

God, we thank You for all the blessings that You have given to the United States for these past 250 years. We thank You for our religious freedom that allows us to worship You openly and without fear. And we pray we would use that freedom to honor and glorify Jesus Christ.

We pray for our nation’s leaders to make wise decisions that would allow us to continue to lead peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.

And God, we pray that this 250th anniversary of our nation would be the beginning of a spiritual revival in Your church, not only here in Wisconsin, but across the entire country. We pray that those of us who follow Jesus would place Jesus alone on the throne of our hearts and of our lives. We pray that we would listen to Your Word carefully and obey it wholeheartedly.

And we ask that we would boldly proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, that eternal life and eternal hope are found only in Him. And God, we ask that many, many of our fellow Americans would come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ this year.

God, we love You and we trust You, and we pray all of this in the precious Name of Jesus our Savior. Amen.

One Nation Under God

Hey, everyone! My name is Josh, and I serve here at Chestnut Ridge Church in Morgantown, West Virginia. It was John Denver who famously described our state as “almost Heaven, West Virginia.”

And if you live here or you’ve been here, you know that’s true. Would you pray with me today?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of this new day. Thank You for life. Thank You for Jesus Christ, our Savior, who died in our place and for our sins. God, we recognize that You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, every single person, including those of us who call the United States of America home. Thank You for this great nation. Thank You for Your faithfulness, grace, and mercy these past 250 years.

God, today, as we prepare to celebrate and step into this new season as a country, I want to lift up all those who are vulnerable across this country, the vulnerable children and teenagers and families who need help. Maybe they’re in poverty or experiencing generational challenges or substance use. We don’t know all of the circumstances, but we know there are people who need help. And we pray that Your church would rise up, that we would be faithful to James 1:27—pure religion before our God and Father is this: to look after the widow and orphan in their distress and to keep ourselves unstained from this world. And, God, that is our heart: that we would live lives that are holy and pleasing to You, that we would communicate Your Good News in word and in deed.

We pray, God, that the church would rise up across this nation to care for vulnerable families, to step in and open their home as a foster family, for the children who are desperately waiting to be adopted, that families who love and follow Christ would bring them in.

Lord, we pray that this next year, this next season of our country, would be marked by a nation that looks after, that cares for, that loves and serves those who are vulnerable. God, this is Your heart, and it is our responsibility as Your followers.

So we bring this to You, we pray for this, and I pray that every person hearing this prayer, God, You would use it to stir our hearts to care for the least of these. And because of that, You receive the glory. We bring all of this to You in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
