Washington County Young Marines

10/29/2026

October 17, 1965 the Young Marine program received its National Charter from the Marine Corps League and thus this date is known as the Young Marines birthday! Each year we celebrate the organizations birthday with a ball.

This year was another wonderful celebration filled with graduations of our recruits (YM PVT Rothrauff, YM PVT Hollis, and honor graduate YM PFC Hollis-Tulley). We also name our unit Young Marine of the year and this year we congratulate YM CPL Hoskins, T who received this esteemed title. Happy Birthday to the Young Marines ❤️💛❤️💛 🇺🇸

We are so excited to kick off another year and watch these kids soar!
Thank you to our many special guests for coming and celebrating with us too.

Our annual Pumpkin Festival parade is always a favorite as it’s filled with fun, spooky, and candy vibes. These YM did a fantastic job leading the parade with the colors. And then enjoyed getting to cheer on the other parade participants, as well as capture a moment with the infamous Beetlejuice

Grateful for the privilege to take some of our kids to Flight 93 National Memorial to witness the 25th anniversary September 11 Observance Ceremonies. Being able to take our kids out there and teach them about that fateful day first hand is an honor. We got to meet some wonderful people and connect with many others, including a gentleman who was there on that day as part of the rescue teams. We Remember Forever ❤️🤍💙

On Saturday we remembered 9/11 hero’s again. Thank you Tunnel to Towers 5k Run & Walk Pittsburgh, PA for allowing us to help be part of this event again. Our very own YM Cpl Bliss ran in the event as well 🙌🏻 Thank you to all those who took the time to show the kids some cool stuff and and answer questions for them.

Today we had the honor of being part of the Memorial Day service at the National Cemetery of the Allegheny’s. Today, and all days, we remember those who made the sacrifice and fought for our freedom!
