We are proud to have helped bring an official historic marker to the newly reconstructed Candlewood Bridge in a ceremony this morning. This bridge and the area around it have been important parts of Washington history. Thanks to the City for restoring the limestone arches in the bridge, and to the State of Illinois for recognizing the historical significance of this site.

Thanks to artist Anat Ronen who gifted Washington an updated portrait of William Holland in our mural. Anat used newly available software to create a more accurate image of Holland than she was able to paint when the mural was originally created in 2020. We think Mr. Holland looks very handsome!
