Pumpkin Classic

09/22/2026

RBA, Re/Max, Morton Buildings, Morton Key Club and more than a hundred other volunteers came together (on the last day of pumpkin fest, no less) to make this year’s Classic safe and successful. The Classic literally could not happen without all of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...PUMPKIN CLASSIC RACE WEEK!

Best wishes to all participants. Here are some gentle reminders as Saturday approaches:

🎃Packet pickup is Friday, from 4:00pm-8:00pm
The Kiln at Morton Junior High
225 E Jackson St as well as
Saturday, beginning at 6:00am
Public lot located at the 200 block of North First Ave.

🎃10K runners must maintain a 16 minute/mile pace as our race course becomes a parade course later Saturday morning.

🎃Hydration is available at the 2 mile and 4 mile spots. Race day looks humid and warm; water is your friend.

🎃The national anthem will be sung at 7AM. The untimed 2 mile will begin at 7:15AM; the competitive 10K race will begin at 7:30AM.

See you soon!

If you're like us and you love a little race-day fit coordination, here's a peak at the 2026 finisher shirt, designed by Sloane B!

Registering by 11:59PM Sunday (9/13) will guarantee you get a shirt; registrants after that time are not promised a shirt or their desired size.

We don’t say it nearly enough, the Pumpkin Classic would not happen without the dozens of volunteers who give their time and talents. Ivy Rehab is one of those generous folks making your event wonderful. They will have a spot in the post race party zone, offering free stretching for runners.

BRING YOUR OLD SHOES TO PACKET PICKUP!
Packet pickup will be 4-8PM at Morton Jr. High on 9/18 as well as race morning starting at 6AM.

Nicholas Delgado will be collecting donations of new and gently used tennis shoes. Please ensure that all donated shoes are tied together in pairs. Your generosity will go a long way in supporting those in need.

The collection bins will be at packet pickup on Friday and Saturday before the race. We hope to see you at our booth this year!

Going The Distance is continuing a commitment to community service by focusing volunteer efforts on assisting the Salvation Army in Peoria. These shelters always have a significant need for shoes and socks, and the upcoming Pumpkin Classic provides the perfect opportunity to make a difference.

There is NO PUMPKIN CLASSIC...without our amazing volunteers!;) Huge thanks to Holly & her Re/Max team as well as Leigh Ann & her Renewal by Andersen folks who make sure our 10K runners stay hydrated. Look for the Renewal and Re/Max Rehydration Stations at miles 2 & 4.2ish!
