A huge THANK YOU to the amazing students at Washington High School for growing the beautiful annual flowers that are now brightening landscaping beds all across our city! 🌸🌿

This community beautification effort was made possible through the generosity of Suntory Flowers, who donated the seeds, the dedication of our Washington High School students who nurtured them, and the hard work of our VIPs (Volunteers In the Parks) who planted them citywide.

Together, these partnerships are helping make the City of Washington even more beautiful for residents and visitors alike. 💐

We have the best Team! Congratulations Washington Missouri Parks!!!

The Washington Missouri Parks and Recreation Department took top honors at the Region 4 Missouri Parks and Recreation Association Park Maintenance Rodeo, held Wednesday, January 29, at the St. Charles Family Arena.
Twenty-one teams competed in a series of skill-based challenges using equipment such as backpack blowers, zero-turn mowers, spreaders, skid steers, Gators with trailers, and an electrical construction project.
Representing Washington Missouri Parks were Josh Wargo, Jim Durbin, Tim Beumer, Jason St. Vrain, and Charles Canter Jr. Their hard work, expertise, and teamwork earned them the win!
The team will advance to the statewide competition on Thursday, February 26, in Columbia, Missouri, where they’ll compete against regional winners from the St. Joseph and Springfield regions.
This achievement is a tremendous honor for the Washington Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Washington. Congratulations to our outstanding team! 👏🌳
