Diva's Had to Say Goodbye to Her Loving Family. Now She's Looking for You

Diva is now 11 years old — a sweet little lady who enjoys life at her own pace: long, leisurely walks followed by very serious naps in the sun.

Diva is a 51-pound pit mix with a sturdy little frame and a wiggly hip walk. Her foster family and adopters describe her as calm, affectionate, and incredibly simple to care for. She's smart, too. Her family told us that if you do something like forget to close the door all the way, Diva will give a little bark to let you know you forgot to lock up!

She loves:
• Chew toys
• Sunny spots on the floor or in the yard
• Travel: she loves to get her steps in as much as a good car ride where she can stick her head out the window
• Snoring
• Quiet hangs with her people

She has been part of The Crossings Animal Society family for some time. In 2022, Diva was surrendered to the Associated Humane Societies Newark shelter, although not much more is known about her background. Shortly thereafter, we pulled her and placed her in our foster network. Soon after that, in early 2023, she was adopted by a lovely older couple in Bucks County who immediately fell in love with her gentle personality and companionship.

Diva spent her happiest days there enjoying a big backyard, soaking up the sun, and keeping her people company at home. Sadly, due to significant health challenges, her adoptive family recently made the heartbreaking decision that they could no longer reliably care for her. They wanted to ensure she received the steady care and attention she deserves.

Our CAS volunteers stepped in to support her transition, helping keep Diva at home as long as possible with regular walks and visits before the family made a final decision to surrender her. She is now in a foster home and has also spent time in doggy daycare, where she continues to show just how easygoing and sweet she is with the staff.

Diva absolutely thrives with people (she's a charmer!), but she does not get along with cats and other dogs. So she would do best as the only pet.

However, as we've seen for the past three years, when she’s curled up beside you or politely asking for a treat after a walk — she is all love, calm, and companionship.

If you’re looking for a low-key, loyal little walking buddy who loves sunshine, snacks, and snuggles, Diva's your girl.

3 DAYS LEFT — Help Local Pets Get the Veterinary Care They Need

How many beloved pets are just one emergency away from going without the care they desperately need?

Right now, families in our community are struggling to afford both routine veterinary care and lifesaving treatment for the dogs and cats they love. Too often, cost becomes the barrier between a pet and the care that could change — or save — their life.

Our “Breakfast for Bosco & Boris” event may be behind us, but the fundraiser is still live — and we are now just 3 DAYS AWAY from the deadline.

🐶 Bosco’s Fund supports preventative care like exams, vaccines, and bloodwork to help keep pets healthy and catch issues early.

🐕 Boris & Natasha’s Fund helps provide urgent, lifesaving care including diagnostics, surgery, and treatment for pets and families facing financial hardship. With community support, more than 60 animals have already received care they otherwise would not have had.

We are so close — and we still need help to reach the goal.

Every donation helps provide care for a pet in need, relief for a family under pressure, and a second chance for animals who depend on timely treatment.

💉 Prevent illness before it starts
🩺 Catch disease early
🏥 Provide lifesaving care when it’s needed most
🏡 Keep pets in loving homes

❤️ Any amount makes a meaningful difference.

Meet R***r, our Rescue Dog of the Week. At 3 years old, this handsome terrier/lab mix spent nearly his entire life waiting in a southern no-kill shelter for someone to notice him. Now, finally, he’s getting his chance.

R***r is fantastic with other dogs, wonderful with kids, and has that perfect balance of playful and calm. He enjoys a game of fetch or time with friends, but he’s just as happy relaxing by your side at the end of the day.

At 60 pounds and past the puppy chaos, R***r is the kind of steady, loving companion so many people are searching for — he just needs someone to finally give him the home he’s been waiting for. Could that be you?

🐾 How many beloved pets are one emergency away from losing the care they desperately need?

💔 Right now, families in our community are struggling to afford both lifesaving veterinary treatment and basic preventative care for the dogs and cats they love. Without help, many pets suffer in silence — or lose the chance to stay with their families at all.

🥞 While the “Breakfast for Bosco & Boris” event has passed, the fundraising continues through the end of the month — because the need for veterinary care does not end after one morning.

🐶 Bosco’s Fund helps provide preventative veterinary care like exams, vaccines, and bloodwork so pets can stay healthy before a crisis happens.

🐕 Boris & Natasha’s Fund helps cover lifesaving medical care, diagnostics, and surgeries for homeless pets and families facing financial hardship. Thanks to supporters, more than 60 animals have already received critical care and a second chance.

🙏 We still need your help to reach the goal.

❤️ Nine dedicated Champions are continuing to fundraise to help save lives — but they cannot do it alone. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps provide care, comfort, relief, and hope to animals who depend on compassionate people like you.

💉 A vaccine can prevent suffering.
🩺 A diagnostic test can catch disease early.
🏥 A surgery can save a life.
🏡 A donation can keep a family together.

🐾 Please donate before the end of the month and help give cats and dogs the veterinary care they deserve.

Because no animal should suffer simply because their family cannot afford treatment.

We’re so close! 🐾❤️

We’re thrilled to share that Breakfast for Bosco & Boris on May 20th is officially SOLD OUT — and thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we are now 79% funded toward our $25,000 goal!

So far, we’ve raised more than $19,659 for preventative and life-sustaining veterinary care through Bosco’s Fund and Boris & Natasha’s Fund.

This fundraiser is about so much more than breakfast at raffle baskets, or one special event. It’s about giving local cats and dogs a real chance at longer, healthier lives with the families who love them.

Your support helps provide:
🐶 $25 — 3-year rabies vaccination
🐱 $45 — 3-year FVRCP booster
🩺 $75 — annual wellness exam
🧪 $150 — full bloodwork for cats
🧪 $200 — full bloodwork for dogs

We’re also proud to share that Flowers Mill Veterinary Hospital is our first veterinary partner for Bosco’s Fund, with additional veterinary partners across Bucks County and Mercer County to be announced soon.

With just TWO MORE DAYS before Wednesday’s celebratory breakfast event, we truly believe we can get there together.

Every donation makes a difference. Every share helps. Every dollar gives a pet access to care. 🐾
