Sharing this story in remembrance of a family friend - who gave us this aviation pin to honor our son Danny's memory 18 years ago! I put it on his mass card, and it's been there since. I had shared with him Danny's aspiration to become a pilot and that he was signed up to take flying lessons! He took it to heart with this kind gesture, and his prayers for Danny meant a lot to us. I am now sending condolences to his family and friends on his recent passing. I offer my prayers for Joel. I know in my heart - they are flying peacefully on Angel's Wings 😇✈️🩵🙏🏽R.I.P

Lord Jesus help us grieving parents with the light of your pure mercy and divine grace. Hold all our children dear in the light of your heart. Give our grieving broken hearts comfort. Give us all grieving mothers the grace to understand this what has been asked of us...when we choose to carry life, birth them, cradle them, raise them, love them unconditionally.... and if, and when, one day have to place them back in your hands..Give us the strength. Although we do not understand why..do help us to accept someday. For only in you they are protected, only in you they find light, only in your arms they find peace. We are pleased to announce the reinstatement of the DANNY BATTISTA MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND in 2026. The scholarahip fund was established in 2009 for music lessons awarded to a young person who is interested in playing the trumpet. More information and criterias for submissions will be announced to continue our son's legacy. Enjoy this rendition of him playing "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" age 12.

This evening, December 10th, our tenth annual bereavement support group holiday potluck will take place from 6:30pm-9pm at the St. Stephens conference center. Our regular monthly support group will resume on the first Wednesday of January. The bereavement support group at St. Stephens, facilitated by trained facilitator Judy Battista, offers a welcoming environment for individuals to share their experiences and connect with others who have experienced loss.

“The Empty Chair” is present at every family gathering. Everyone knows it’s there but voices are hushed. No one wants to talk about it. It’s too painful. The one who is missing is missed so much that it hurts to breathe. Never again will any holiday be the same. We do the best we can to get through the day knowing life is now permanently changed by your child’s absence.
