The Purpose of Beloved: Not Forgotten
Our purpose is to provide a safe, home-like environment, where those who have been victimized through s*xual exploitation and trafficking can begin their healing journey by reclaiming their lives and gaining necessary skills to aid in daily living. Although there is an increased awareness of human trafficking and more programs that offer services to survivors
, there are limited beds available at local homeless shelters, YWCA's, battered women's shelters, etc. Furthermore, the locations that are available may not offer the services and resources that address the specific needs of these individuals. Our vision is that every Domestic S*x Trafficking survivor in Indiana has access to transformative care. The aftercare and empowerment of people who have been s*xually exploited and trafficked is our focus. To begin, Beloved's home will offer programs for young women. These programs will provide holistic care of mind, body, and soul in a safe environment, hopefully increasing the chance that they will stay in the program and continue the healing process. These individuals will be accepted and loved regardless of their religion, or lack thereof, race, and gender identity. Furthermore, they will be given access to individualized education and training plans including trauma-informed counseling, mentor programs, and group therapy. Most importantly, the Beloved team is committed to display God's love to these women by showing them respect, grace, and unconditional love. Our prayer is that no matter the length of time we are given with these people, they will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior through whom ultimate healing is achieved. In the end, our hope is that each person will be empowered to reclaim their life, transform their destiny, and fulfill the good purpose God created them for. Beloved: Not Forgotten Currently
Our business, action, and strategy plans have been developed, and the policies and procedures for the home are completed. The next step is to purchase the property we are currently renting. At the start of 2023, we hired 3 women to come alongside BELOVED to fulfill our mission. There is frequent comorbidity within survivors of s*x trafficking and psychiatric conditions as well as substance use disorder. Because of this, we have implemented the Genesis Process and have staff who have addiction knowledge. We are asking you to please strongly consider what your contribution could mean for the lives of many in your community. We hope regardless of your financial support, you will help raise awareness and call to action those in your circle. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Beloved and for considering to support us in this fight against trafficking. Founder of Beloved: Not Forgotten
Hello! I have been an Administrative Assistant for over thirty years, but my passion has been in working with the at-risk youth in the communities in which I have lived. For nearly fourteen years I lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and volunteered with a local youth center through which I developed relationships with many of the young people in the neighborhood. My home quickly became a safe place for them to stay, and it was hardly ever empty. During this time, my passion to see these youth succeed grew, and I focused on helping them realize their value and worth. Furthermore, I helped them identify their skills and interests and develop relationships with local businesses with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty. After nearly fourteen years in Philadelphia, I moved back to Warsaw where I continued my work with young people through a local youth organization. Through my time as an employee and as a member of the Board of Directors for the organization, I became aware of Domestic Minor S*x Trafficking. Specifically, a twelve-year-old girl who attended the youth organization confided in me that she was being sold for s*x at a local motel by her mother. This has haunted me ever since. Then, in 2013, I knew I could no longer do nothing after being introduced to the wide-spread problem of s*x trafficking in Asia. I sold everything I owned and moved to Thailand to volunteer for an organization that brings girls out of s*x trafficking. In the fifteen months that I lived in Thailand, I came in contact with many organizations that also work in the United States and discovered that human/s*x trafficking is a big problem here as well. Upon my return to the United States, I realized the great need for homes that serve those who have been brought out of s*x trafficking. Beloved: Not Forgotten began with a small group of people coming together in October 2015 to pray each week. We were incorporated as of December 30, 2015 and received our 501(c) (3) non-profit status in March of 2016. The first three-and-a-half years after establishing non-profit status was spent raising awareness of Domestic S*x Trafficking and educating communities on the warning signs and needs of those being trafficked. We also built relationships with local law enforcement agencies and other organizations who have developed successful care programs.
