DSP Peggy Moss couldn’t wait to share this from the weekend:
It was a great cultural experience for Bri, Heather, Kate, Bonnie, and myself at the German Fest at Headwaters Park in Fort Wayne on Saturday! The ladies enjoyed learning about differences in cultures such as language, lifestyle, food, dress, and music. Everyone had a great time. Heather spoke to several officers who know her family member who served on the FWPD and thanked them for their protection of the festival. Bri said she LOVED learning about German culture and listening to the music. Kate bought a pretty blue necklace representing German style. And Bonnie simply had us cackling with her chicken hat, which by the way, we were told is a hat worn by tourists. It’s not true German culture.
On our trek back to Warsaw, “cackling” abounded as a pickup truck pulled up beside us with the driver enthusiastically laughing while giving Bonnie two thumbs up for her chicken hat…who has been lovingly named Clucky Duck, although he’s a chicken. Made everyone’s day!
We all fully agreed that today was an amazing day! The ladies would like to encourage others to participate in cultural events like German Fest. “You’re never going to learn, unless you get out and live!”
