The Kosciusko County 4-H program is open to all youth, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, whether they live in the city or on a farm.

The Indiana 4-H Youth Development mission is to provide real-life educational opportunities that develop young people who positively impact their community and world. Using curriculum and research from Purdue University, we provide hands-on learning experiences that teach life skills across 60 different subject areas. It's hard to believe we're already heading into November! The 2026–2027 4-H enrollment season is underway, and we've got a little something special for the first 10 youth whose enrollments are approved. Be sure to check out this month's updates, mark your calendars, and share the news with your fellow 4-H families. There's lots to look forward to!

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 4-H program year, we want to share several important enrollment updates that will be effective on November 1, 2026.

🍀The statewide Indiana 4-H program enrollment fee will increase from $15 to $25 per member.
🍀Additional county enrollment fees will be discontinued.
🍀All enrollment payments must be made electronically. No credit card processing fees apply to the statewide enrollment fee.
🍀Families with more than three enrolled youth will only pay up to $75 in total.
🍀Mini 4-H members are excluded from the statewide enrollment fee.

This fee adjustment will help Purdue Extension continue providing safe, high-quality programs that meet the evolving needs of Indiana's young people.

Through Oct. 11, guests can round up their purchase at Casey's or make a donation online to support local 4-H programs. Casey's will also match guest donations up to $150,000.

Plot twist! 😂 We were all set for October 1… and now we’re waiting until November 1!

There are some exciting changes happening behind the scenes in 4-HOnline, and we’re waiting on those updates before opening enrollment for the year.

But here’s the good news: 4-H doesn’t stop just because the enrollment button does! 🎉 We can still meet, learn, plan, have fun, make memories, and keep doing all the awesome things Kosciusko County 4-H does best! 💚

The results are in... over 120 votes submitted and the results were so very close. We are so excited to have a few returning 4-H Council members for their second term and to also welcome some newly elected 4-H Council members. We look forward to their ideas, energy, and leadership that will lead Kosciusko County 4-H

Thank you to everyone who participated in the election and to all of the candidates who stepped forward to serve. Your willingness to support and strengthen our 4-H program is so valued.

These board members take their role on October 1. Join us in congratulating them, and don't be afraid to reach out to them if you have suggestions or ideas for the Kosciusko County 4-H program as we strive to Make the Best Better.

There are two important 4-H opportunities happening:

If you haven’t voted for the adult 4-H Council candidates yet, make sure your vote is submitted by September 20th.

📣 Youth 4-H Council Applications
Current high school 4-H members interested in serving as a Youth Member on 4-H Council must submit their application by September 20th.

4-H Council Candidate Spotlight
Meet Janelle Rhoades, a candidate for the Kosciusko County 4-H Council.

Janelle Rhoades has been involved in 4-H as a parent for the past five years and joined the Kosciusko County 4-H Goat Committee this past year. She teaches middle school Physical Education and Health at Edgewood and also coaches group fitness classes at Strive Fit Club. Janelle is seeking to continue her involvement with 4-H by serving on the Kosciusko County 4-H Council.
