Join the Vista Gem & Mineral Society for an open house on Saturday, June 20 | 1:30–3:30 PM! Members and newcomers are all welcome—come reconnect before our summer break or get to know our club for the first time.
Tour our workshop, see beautiful pieces created by our community, and learn how to get involved (including volunteer opportunities!).
We’ll have BBQ staples—burgers, hot dogs, and veggie options—just bring a side, drink, or dessert to share. 🍔🌭
Come connect, create, and celebrate with us—we can’t wait to see you!

DONATION DRIVE HAPPENING NOW!

Help Support the Vista Gem & Mineral Society!

Do you have rocks, gemstones, lapidary equipment, tools, jewelry-making supplies, or mineral collections looking for a new home?

The Vista Gem & Mineral Society is seeking donations to support our educational programs, workshops, beginner classes, and community outreach efforts. Donations of all sizes are appreciated, including:

🔹 Rough rock and cutting material
🔹 Gemstones and mineral specimens
🔹 Slabs and cabochons
🔹 Lapidary equipment and tools
🔹 Silversmithing and jewelry-making supplies
🔹 Estate collections and hobby shop contents

Whether you’re downsizing a collection, cleaning out a workshop, or looking to pass along materials to the next generation of rockhounds and jewelry artists, we’d love to hear from you.

Your donation helps support hands-on education, lapidary training, silversmithing classes, and community programs offered by the Vista Gem & Mineral Society.

To inquire about making a donation, please send photos and a brief description of the items to [email protected]. Our Donation Coordinator, Lisa, will review submissions and follow up regarding accepted donations.

Our stacker ring workshop was so much fun! The students did an awesome job trying out some metalsmithing skills & were so thrilled to make their own rings. Copper, sterling silver, hammered, patterned, and even some patina creations. Thank you all for coming! ✨💍👏 And thank you to our volunteer instructors: Mark O, Mark S, and Kate 🫶

Learn to make stacking rings with us! 💍 The materials will be enough for each student to complete at least 2 rings during this class. If you have time to make more, material for additional rings will be available for purchase.

No prior experience required.

WORKSHOP Cost:

$50 for VGMS members
$70 for non-members
+ $20 materials cost for each participant

Materials are NOT included in the class fee and will be charged separately on the day of the workshop.

Join us this Saturday for Labradorite: The Northern Lights Stone! ✨ Our own VGMS President, Anthony Neenan, will be covering the geology of labradorite, how its unique optical effect (labradorescence) creates those flashes of color, where it’s found around the world, and how it’s used in jewelry and lapidary work.
