Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad Our first response area is the largest in the city, encompassing approximately 100 square miles.

We are a group of approximately 100 volunteers, from all walks of life, who provide emergency medical response, 100% free of charge, to the citizens and visitors of Virginia Beach, VA, every day of the year. Our EMTs and paramedics staff a fleet of four advanced life support ambulances split between Fire/Rescue Stations 5 & 21, responding to over 3,000 emergency calls per year.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day! An overdose is preventable.

You can help by:
- Learning the signs of overdose.
- Carrying naloxone and knowing how to use it.
- Promoting respect by using person-centered language.
- Supporting access to treatment and recovery services.
- Sharing evidence-based overdose prevention resources.

This International Overdose Awareness Day, the conversation is still needed — and every action can help save lives.

❤️ Congratulations to our Admin Captain Gary Wilks, and EMT Ben Dixon on receiving a lifesaving award!!

Members are awarded the lifesaving award when they function as a crew member that successfully resuscitated an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest that is discharged neurologically intact from the hospital.
