A $4,000 grant from Operation Round-Up allowed the Vinita Day Center to purchase food for its supplemental meal program.
The non-profit center has been in operation since 1988 and provides hot meals and a recreational respite five days a week to adults in the community who are either homeless or dependent on residential care facilities for housing.
The center serves about 40 visitors daily. In May, the center served more than 1,200 meals, did 17 loads of laundry, and its shower was used 41 times.
The grant was made possible by Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative members who voluntarily allow their monthly electric bills to be rounded up to the next highest dollar. Since 1998, NOEC members through Operation Round-Up have contributed more than $3.5 million dollars in local assistance to worthwhile causes throughout Craig, Mayes, Delaware, Ottawa and Rogers counties.

💙 WOW! What a blessing! 💙

The Vinita Day Center would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to Catrina Kelley and Cabin Creek Wind for their generous donation of a mountain of paper goods!

Items like toilet paper, paper towels, cups, and other disposable supplies may seem simple, but they are necessities that help us serve our guests every single day. Donations like this allow us to stretch our resources further and continue providing meals, showers, laundry services, and a welcoming place for those in need.

WOW… what a blessing for the Vinita Day Center! ❤️

This week we had the honor of being invited to the Walmart Grand Re-Opening Celebration, and we are incredibly thankful to share that we were awarded a $2,000 donation through their community partnership program!

This kind of support makes a real difference right here in Vinita—helping us continue to serve meals, provide showers, laundry access, and a safe place for so many in our community.

❤️ APRIL IMPACT REPORT – VINITA DAY CENTER ❤️

Because of this incredible community, lives are being changed every single day right here in Vinita.

In the month of April, YOU made this possible:
• 36 people served per day on average
• 96 different individuals helped throughout the month
• 1,056 meals provided
• 22 showers given
• Laundry services available for our guests

Every meal served, every shower taken, every load of laundry washed… it all represents dignity, hope, and a fresh start.
