Join us for a picture walk through the halls of Armory Lane Senior Apartments and see some of our favorite spaces.

This table in the kitchen is where BINGO happens every Thursday morning at 10 AM.

This table, where a puzzle is kept for residents to take a few minutes to add some pieces.

The Dining Room/Community Room, where 35 seniors join together for Coffee Hours, Age Well Meals, impromptu concerts from local school groups, and community meals.

These weights waiting for residents to pick up for the Monday and Wednesday Bone Builders Classes.

This couch in the lounge where residents catch up with each other and share their lives.

This sign on the wall reminding our residents to fill their lives up!

Our lending library, where a resident can take a book or leave a book.

All of these spaces make a building feel like a home. These spaces are where memories are being made. These spaces are where friendships are grown. These spaces are where the Armory Lane community comes together.

The evening will begin with a welcome reception featuring light refreshments and an opportunity for informal conversation with AHW board members and staff about the future of affordable housing in our region. The formal meeting will follow, including board elections, a presentation of the annual report, and updates on the work ahead to expand and preserve affordable housing in Addison County.

Last Friday, volunteers came together across Vergennes, Middlebury, and Bristol for a Green Up Day full of teamwork, community pride, and a whole lot of hard work!

From trash pickup and garden bed clean-up to bed repairs and prepping spaces for future planting, our staff and volunteers helped make our communities shine at Firehouse Apartments, Hunt Farm Apartments, Creek View Apartments, Vergennes Community Apartments, McKnight Lane, Peter Coe Village, and Pine Meadows.

We were especially grateful to welcome the 5th and 6th students and teacher from the Champlain Valley Christian School, whose energy and willingness to jump in inspired everyone around them. One resident at Creek View shared how meaningful it was to see a group of school kids working so hard alongside the rest of the volunteers.

After a full day of work, each team wrapped up with pizza parties and well-earned time together.

Thank you to every staff member and volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart to this effort. Days like this remind us how strong our communities are when we work together.

AHW staff had the chance to tour one of Habitat for Humanity of Addison County VT's newly completed homes at their open house, and wow!

This beautiful three-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath home is one of four Habitat houses being built on Gorham Lane in Middlebury that will become part of Addison Housing Works’ Shared Equity Portfolio, keeping them permanently affordable for generations to come.

Here’s the exciting timeline:
• One home has already closed, and the new homeowners have moved in 🎉
• One is set to close in March
• One foundation is poured, with construction starting this spring
• The fourth home is slated to begin in 2027

We’re so proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity and National Bank of Middlebury to provide down payment grants that help make these homes a reality. Partnerships like this are how we expand access to affordable homeownership in Addison County.
