There's something special happening in our community gardens this summer.

Flowers are blooming, vegetables are growing, and residents are creating spaces that reflect their creativity, care, and hard work. These gardens provide more than fresh food and beautiful flowers; they offer a place to gather, connect with neighbors, and put down roots.

At Addison Housing Works, we believe that everyone deserves a place to belong. Our community gardens help make that possible by giving residents the opportunity to grow something of their own while helping our communities flourish together.

Here's to another season of growth, beauty, and connection.

We were honored to welcome members of the Addison County Sheriff's Office for a tour of our Vergennes Community Apartments and Armory Lane Senior Apartments last week.

Property Management Director Tori Marukelli and Engagement Manager Kara Bradford shared a behind-the-scenes look at the many ways Addison Housing Works supports residents, from property management and resident services to community-building initiatives. We were also grateful to have a few residents join the conversation and share their experiences.

Strong communities are built through collaboration, and we're thankful for our ongoing partnership with the Addison County Sheriff's Department and their commitment to the people we serve.

🍩 Happy (belated) National Donut Day! 🍩

Friday morning got a little sweeter thanks to our Addison Housing Works Fun Committee, who treated staff at both of our offices to delicious donuts from Jones Donut Bakery in Rutland.

From property management to maintenance, accounting to fundraising, our team works hard every day to support affordable housing and stronger communities. It was wonderful to start the day with a small treat, a few laughs, and some time together.

A big thank you to our Fun Committee for helping create moments of connection and appreciation across our organization and to Jones Donut Bakery for the tasty donuts! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Addison Housing Works' Annual Meeting!

It was an evening of reflection, celebration, and community as we looked back on the past year and ahead to what’s next for affordable housing in Addison County.

One of the most meaningful moments came from a resident of Creek View Apartments in Vergennes, who thanked our property management and maintenance teams and shared these powerful words:

"You're keeping me from homelessness or a senior home."

We also recognized a resident of Armory Lane Senior Apartments for his dedication to the Gardening Committee and the care he brings to creating a welcoming community for his neighbors.

The evening included a special tribute to longtime board member Ingrid Pixley. In honor of her years of service and lasting impact, we announced plans to dedicate a garden in her name at Peter Coe Village in Middlebury, a living reminder of the care, commitment, and community she has helped cultivate.

We also shared exciting news about the continued growth of our work, including the upcoming closing of a property that Addison Housing Works took over managing this winter.

Thank you to our residents, board members, staff, partners, and supporters who make this work possible. Together, we're building stronger communities and creating more opportunities for people to thrive in safe, stable, affordable homes.

Join us for a picture walk through the halls of Armory Lane Senior Apartments and see some of our favorite spaces.

This table in the kitchen is where BINGO happens every Thursday morning at 10 AM.

This table, where a puzzle is kept for residents to take a few minutes to add some pieces.

The Dining Room/Community Room, where 35 seniors join together for Coffee Hours, Age Well Meals, impromptu concerts from local school groups, and community meals.

These weights waiting for residents to pick up for the Monday and Wednesday Bone Builders Classes.

This couch in the lounge where residents catch up with each other and share their lives.

This sign on the wall reminding our residents to fill their lives up!

Our lending library, where a resident can take a book or leave a book.

All of these spaces make a building feel like a home. These spaces are where memories are being made. These spaces are where friendships are grown. These spaces are where the Armory Lane community comes together.
