Live music. Great food. Cold drinks. Good neighbors. One seriously fun Friday night.

The AHW Neighborhood Block Party is coming to Vergennes on Friday, September 18, from 4–7 PM, and we’d love to see you there!

We’re taking over Armory Lane at the American Legion for an evening featuring:

Live music from The Grift
Delicious food for purchase from Pratt's and Viva El Sabor
Cash bar provided by The American Legion
A silent auction packed with great items
Games and family-friendly fun
Opportunities to tour nearby Addison Housing Works properties
And a chance to support affordable housing right here in Addison County

Tickets are just $10, and every ticket supports the work of Addison Housing Works to create and preserve safe, quality, affordable homes throughout our communities.

Addison Housing Works will be tabling at The Tillerman’s Summer Live Music Series on Wednesday, August 19 from 5–8pm in Bristol.

Stop by our table, say hello, and learn a little more about AHW and our work creating and sustaining affordable homes throughout Addison County. Then stick around for live music, tacos from Las Hermosas, drinks, snacks, and sweets!

Home is more than four walls. It's where you find peace, purpose, and community.

When Al moved to Armory Lane, he wasn't just looking for an apartment;he was looking for a place to belong.

After years of caring for others, facing serious health challenges, and moving from place to place, Al found the stability he had been searching for. Today, he's known for his love of puzzles, fishing, gardening, and, most of all, helping his neighbors. Whether he's tending the flower boxes or restoring an electric wheelchair for a fellow resident, Al continues to make his community stronger through simple acts of kindness.

His story is a reminder that affordable housing isn't just about providing a roof overhead. It's about creating places where people can heal, build connections, and continue giving back.

24 affordable senior homes preserved for generations to come.

We're proud to share that Addison Housing Works has officially acquired Valley View Apartments in Vergennes, permanently preserving 24 affordable homes for older adults in our community.

As housing costs continue to rise, protecting existing affordable housing is just as important as building new homes. This acquisition ensures that Valley View will remain an affordable place for seniors to live while expanding access to the supportive services and community connections that help residents age safely and independently.

This milestone was made possible through the support of the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board and the Vermont Community Loan Fund, whose investments help keep affordable housing within reach for the people who need it most.

Every preserved home means greater housing stability, stronger communities, and more Vermonters with a safe place to call home.

We had a wonderful day yesterday visiting Addison Housing Works' community at Armory Lane! We spoke with SASH Coordinator Diana Rule-Senzel (center) who has been there for over 12 years, and SASH participants Joanie (left) and Ann (right). Both participants couldn't say enough good things about the support they receive from Diana and what a difference SASH has made in their lives. 💚
