What happens when three Lions, one Leo and some tools are involved? In this case a new mailbox was put up for a resident. Thanks to Lion Randy for the invite. Like all good projects, there was a need for a supervisor Lion Cookie held shovels, took photos, brought water, and watched many hands make light work. Thanks to Lions Collin, Ben and LEO Wilder.

What a great evening for the Vergennes Lions and Vergennes LEOS. Over thirty members attended a meeting where we celebrated the awarding of Chevron pins for years of service, shared the exciting results of the Car Raffle and Memorial Day events, inducted two new Lions, voted in a new slate of officers for 2026-2027 and listened to a great presentation from Tri-Valley Transit Addison Director Bill Cunningham and Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Morrisette. Also back from wintering in the south and college were several Lions who made the event fun. Welcoming June and a loaded Tuesday and Wednesday this week. On Tuesday we will visit our friends the residents of the Vergennes Grand and sing, dance, laugh and talk. On Wednesday, it is our last day of the year Reading to the Littles at Evergreen Preschool and that night at a Vergennes Lions Meeting, LEOS Scout and Quincy will be sworn in as Lions!

Today the Vergennes Community celebrated Memorial Day while honoring those who gave their lives that this nation might live. American Legion Post #14 hosted the parade and a chicken barbeque. Vergennes Lions sold flags and balloons, hosted a burger and dog stand and announced thw winner of the Lions Car auction.Vergennes Leos sold popcorn, delivered speeches in the park and helped out. Miss Vermont Hannah Roque sang the national anthem. Today's events are 70 plus years of tradition. Thank you to everyone who participated and most importantly those whose ultimate sacrifice guarded our freedoms.

Tonight the Leos joined the Lions Club for conversation, planning, and celebrating a year of service. It was a special night. Look for both the Lions and the Leos in many locations during the Vergennes Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25th! Thanks Leos Quincy, Ben, Kaiya, Kelsey and Wilder for sharing with the Vergennes Lions. Thanks to the Lions for being there to mentor and guide.

Thanks to the Daughters of the American Revolution Seth Warner- Rhoda Farrand Chapter for inviting the LEOS to the John Strong Mansion yesterday. We got the chance to plant some native wildflowers and to see some of our LEOS awarded for their efforts in the DAR essay contests. Photos include LEOS Wilder, Scout and Georgia. Soon to be added is one of LEO Laela as well. Congratulations to all who got the chance to research and learn about people who were either signers of the Declaration of Independence or impactful during the American Revolution.
