The owner of Samba Mini Mart on Bedford in the Hill District of Pittsburgh is our very own hero’s hero!!! If you know him remind him that he’s awesome!! He REFUSED our $100.00 cash reward for going above and beyond in helping!

On Monday an individual stole James wallet while he was hard at work doing his master plumber thing on a job site in a rough area. The thief went into Samba’s to make some purchases on our rescue’s Venmo card and made out with $18.29 in purchases like a bandit…. Until a notification popped up on James phone showing the purchase he had no idea his wallet wasn’t still in his presence. He immediately went to the minimart and the owner pledged to watch for him. Turns out the guy went back in within a few hours to try and make another purchase. The owner LOCKED HIM INSIDE, called 911 and did NOT allow him to leave!! He’s now in custody as he had warrants so there’s that. Unfortunately his wallets contents have been seized in Pittsburghs precinct as evidence so they are being withheld from James until a superior can sign off or we get a court order for their release in our spare time. 😳 So if you know a guy who knows a gal that can speed up a victim getting their possessions back give us a holla!

Our dogs approve this post as anyone who takes care of their peeps is good peeps in their books!

It’s not just everyday a $696.00 cash donation is hand delivered to us by a super sweet student but that happened today!!! The Leechburg High School National Honor Society and Interact Club raised and combined their funds to benefit our beyond appreciative doggies!!!! WOWSER!!! Thank you to each and everyone involved for such an incredible donation to our cause!!! Sprocket LOVED the surprise almost as much as he loved the deliverers!

Please join us in welcoming GUS into our rescue!! He joined us yesterday as well. One of our incredible puppy fosters was puppyless while scrolling the never ending rehoming sites. Thankfully she acted fast to get this too young to be out and about puppy who was being given away at just 6 weeks of age! His very young caretaker instantly took us up on our offer although she had many interested in taking him off of her hands which we’re GRATEFUL for as that’s a very scary situation.

Gus is a 6 week old male shepherd, pitbull, heeler mix who will be ready after he turns 8 weeks old on 5/23. He’s a small fry now but has potential to grow into a big tater! He is as OUTGOING as they come and is waddling around his new pad like he owns the place! He has been wrestling with his older dog foster bro who is excited this puppy came puppy like and ready to play! Their last foster was a real scaredy cat so this one is quite the opposite!

His foster fam HIGHLY RECOMMENDS Gus Franco's Pizza hence where his name came from so shout out to them! Free pizza for all? Haha ok just his fosters perhaps! 😉

Nala Wala the Koala travels all the way from Irwin to lil Vandergrift for her grooming glam sessions although they must pass at least 20 other groomers on the way!! 🩷 Some clients make me feel so SPECIAL!!

Her daddy Craig had their fashion on point from his pants to her harness (you’ll have to take my word) that were both the same baby blue color so of course she got her tootsies painted to match!!!

His shirt read “SOBER AF” which deserves a huge applause as TinyCause wouldn’t be the same without him being a part of it for what feels like forever now.

Please join us in welcoming SPROCKET into our rescue!! Our friends at Sable Animal Control reached out to get him some quick help and of course we happily agreed. Turns out he’s been identifying as a feral cat while living with a well fed cat colony for at least the last 3 weeks!! This morning he had a considerable amount of blood in his stool and water bowl which thankfully Parvo was ruled out for. Holiday Park Animal Hospital hooked us up as they always do and saw him within an hour of us leaving Sable as we were all very concerned! It could simply be parasites to eating who knows what so he’s on medical watch for now.

Sprocket (think Fragglerocks dog micro sized - pic in comments) is a 6-7 year old male shihtzu who is super sweet, loving, playful and feeling like royalty right now snoozing away beside me in bed! He went from having zero human contact to a busy day including 4 hours straight of being groomed/dematted and me removing 100s of ticks off of him. He fought the process right up until those itchy creepy crawlers started disappearing from his poor red irritated skin. He’s now glued to my side and hanging with 3 of his foster dog friends so he’s dog friendly and obviously feline friendly. While he’s on the mend we’ll be getting to know him so once we can get him fully vetted hopefully he’ll have a home lined up! We don’t know anything else at this moment.

Vienna was ADOPTED… again!! This teeny tiny snack size canine hatin’ baddie landed herself an adult human family to take over obsessing her perfect self! Sadly they just lost their beloved doggy, Pepper, a few weeks ago and although they weren’t ready mom & dad both landed on Petfinder and came across her individually. Once they shared the same exact dog to each other in surprise and excitement they applied and couldn’t come meet her fast enough! Dad is retired and has been feeling lost without his sidekick so she’s a future daddy’s girl however her mom is a hard working nurse who comforts humans constantly so this could be a real debate. Add in her college attending brother and she’s got 3 super fans to cheer her existence on which is totally her thing! She’ll be borrowing in their king size beds blankets and hearts in no time. Happy Tails!!!

Valentino (now Tino) was ADOPTED!!! He arrived to us back in early February from a bad humane hoarding case in Somerset as one of the last 2 dogs to get rescue assistance. He wouldn’t even make eye contact with us for the first few days and winced in fear when touched. He couldn’t tell us what all had happened to him previously but he quickly adapted to LOVE and started bonding with our shop volunteers which led to him being foster home ready. His fosters are truly amazing people who often took him out here, there and everywhere after he trusted them to work on his confidence and socialization skills which ultimately resulted in him meeting his new wonderful dad at Del’s Plum Creamery!! He went from wanting to be invincible to approaching humans on the regular! He went into his home as a foster to adopt a few weeks ago to make sure his lovely older sister, Puddles, and his feline friend, Domino, could all peacefully coexist and they can! He tries to play with Domino who often gives a stern hiss and scares him off but it’s his BFF Puddles that is all the rave! They turn dad’s house into zoomie-ville and provide him endless comical relief. He’s just as smitten with Tino as Tino is with him. Thank you everyone who assisted him along the way as these kinda adoptions are the ones that will forever by my favorites! Happy Tails!!!
