Our Search and Rescue is made up of an ALL VOLUNTEER staff and is managed by full time MCSO staff.

Many people have stepped up on the supply front for folks helping battle these fires. Thank you all for your support! The need now transitions to funding for fuel and repairs to vehicles and equipment. The VCC is pleased to provide some information if you are willing to consider a financial donation. Today members of MC SAR went to help some motorists that broke down while attempting to go around a road closure. When roads are closed it is for a reason, make good decisions! Use tripcheck.com for current closures.

Our monthly training took the team on a short trip to find a missing UTV passenger. After locating him we prepared him for transportation. Are you interested in helping out in your community? Contact Malheur County Sheriff’s office!

Today, some of our members provided assistance to a motorist who became stuck. The primary goal of SAR is to ensure that people are able to return home safely. Although we may occasionally assist with stuck vehicles such as this one, our standard protocol typically involves recovering stuck vehicles with the help of a tow company. It is essential to be prepared!
