During Homecoming weekend, we had the privilege of celebrating our 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients at an evening dedicated to recognizing their achievements, service, and lasting impact.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards are more than a celebration of professional success. They are an opportunity to honor the individuals who continue to represent the very best of Valdosta State University and inspire future generations of Blazers.

Over the next two weeks, we're excited to shine the spotlight on each of this year's honorees, sharing their stories, accomplishments, and the journeys that have brought them to where they are today.

Join us as we continue celebrating these outstanding members of Blazer Nation!

Go Blazers!

Blazer Owned Business Spotlight: Dan Kerrigan ’00

This week, we’re highlighting The Kerrigan Group, owned by Dan Kerrigan.

What began in 2001 as a transaction-focused practice has grown into a team dedicated to helping families and business owners across the Southeast navigate their financial futures through thoughtful planning, trusted relationships, and a long-term approach.

A 2000 graduate of VSU’s Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration, Dan earned his undergraduate degree in marketing. Over the past 25 years, The Kerrigan Group has continued to grow, including a team of VSU alumni and the addition of Dan’s son, Daniel Kerrigan Jr., who joined the firm in 2026 after graduating from VSU with a degree in finance from the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration.

Homecoming 2026 was one to remember!

The Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament was the perfect way to kick off the weekend! With beautiful weather, friendly competition, and time spent with fellow Blazers, it was a great day on the course making memories and celebrating the VSU community.

Friday night’s Distinguished Alumni Dinner brought together alumni and friends for an evening of laughter, connection, and celebration as we honored seven exceptional alumni whose accomplishments continue to make VSU proud.

Saturday wrapped up the weekend with another fantastic President’s Tailgate and Blazer fans filling Bazemore-Hyder Stadium to cheer on the Blazers. With beautiful weather and a Blazer victory, it was the perfect way to close out Homecoming weekend!

Thank you to all the alumni, students, families, and friends who joined us throughout the weekend. Your support and Blazer pride make Homecoming special year after year.

We’re not done yet! Join us next Saturday, November 7, for our final President’s Tailgate of the regular season as the Blazers take on North Greenville for our blackout game. We hope to see you there!
