🧁✨ Open Rec Muffin Bake-Off Challenge! ✨🧁

Today, Open Rec youth put their baking skills to the test during a fun muffin bake-off challenge! Everyone started with the exact same ingredients but had the opportunity to create their own unique muffin flavors and bring their ideas to life.

Once the muffins were baked, the competition moved to judging, where special guest judges sampled each creation and helped select the favorites—making for a fun afternoon full of creativity, teamwork, and a little friendly competition! 👩‍🍳🏆

Activities like this help youth build confidence, practice problem-solving, follow directions, and explore creativity in a hands-on way.

A special shoutout goes to Open Rec’s newest team members, Ms. Faith and Ms. Rachel 💜 who have jumped in head first and already built amazing relationships and rapport with the youth. Their energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to connect have made such a positive impact, and the program is excited to have them as part of the team!

Awesome job to all of today’s bakers—there may be some future pastry chefs in the group! 🧁✨

🐊🪷 Purple Group spent the day exploring one of Georgia’s coolest natural treasures — the Okefenokee Swamp!

From spotting wildlife and learning about unique ecosystems to taking in the beauty of the swamp, today was all about getting outside and turning curiosity into adventure. 🌿🦅

Field trips like this give youth the chance to connect with nature, ask questions, build observation skills, and make memories with friends along the way. We loved seeing everyone’s excitement as they explored and discovered something new! 💜

Moody families — the stage is set! Join us for a week of creativity, confidence-building, and fun as we welcome Missoula Children’s Theatre for The Tortoise and the Hare!

Youth ages 5–18 will spend the week auditioning, practicing, working as a team, and bringing a full performance to life by Friday evening. Theatre is a great way to build communication skills, confidence, creativity, and friendships along the way!

Yellow Group took flight today at iFLY!

Today our Yellow Group stepped outside their comfort zones and experienced the thrill of indoor skydiving! Youth had the chance to challenge themselves, build confidence, practice active listening, and learn that trying something new can lead to incredible moments. 💛✈️

🍕 Yesterday our Grey Group visited Marco’s Pizza and got the chance to make their own pizzas from start to finish!

This trip was more than just lunch — our youth practiced culinary and life skills by following directions, making choices, building independence, and getting hands-on in the kitchen. They learned a little about food preparation, kitchen routines, and what goes into creating a meal while also working on patience and confidence trying something new.

And of course… enjoying the final product was everyone’s favorite part 🍕🩶

⭐️ Recreational Soccer League with our NEW PARTNERS… BVB International Academy Georgia – South! ⭐️
This new club will be helping Moody Youth Programs in its commitment to developing players the right way: fostering love for the game while building skill, confidence, and character through a player-centered approach.

Age Groups:
• U6 (age 4 & 5)
• U8 (ages 6 & 7)
• U10 (ages 8 & 9)
• U12 (ages 10 & 11)

Game Season: September to November – Games are played on Saturdays (8 games played)

On June 22, pre teens ages 9-12 are invited to hang out in Gainesville for a creative day full of fun! Kick off with a delicious charcuterie class. Then turn up the excitement in the splatter room! Get ready to make a mess and love it!
