If your dishes were dirty would you just break them? Of course not. So why do we let perfectly good homes
go into disrepair?
Our country’s approach to affordable housing isn’t getting us anywhere. We can’t build our way out of it if we
let the affordable homes we already have quietly disappear from our communities.
But for the same cost as building 1 new home, Rebuilding Together can fix 18.
Instead of replacing homes, we repair them, making them safer, more accessible, and more affordable to
maintain for veterans, older adults, people with disabilities and families with young children.
Every roof patched helps keep a family safely housed. Every accessible ramp helps a neighbor live
independently. Every repaired home safeguards affordable housing that might otherwise disappear forever.
