Our next exhibit "Transforming Unionville", opening on September 20th, will focus on the redevelopment that forever changed Unionville center in the late 60s, early 70s. I remember being stunned when I came back to Unionville, just a week after I'd moved to an apt. in Hartford, to find the Episcopal Church gone.

According to an article in the Courant in 1833 this is how Unionville celebrated the fourth: “At sunrise 24 guns were fired from a six-pounder, at 2 o’clock the Declaration of Independence was read, after which about one hundred sat down to a dinner under a bower.
