Here's to the crew that keeps our adventures moving downstream -- for 11 years and counting! Give a shout out to our favorite guides in the business! Thanks, Wilderness Voyageurs 🤗🎉🛶 , for showing local youth that they belong here, in this beautiful place, having grand adventures.

They read the water. They call the lines. They tell the stories, crack the jokes, keep the energy high, and turn a day on the Yough into a day people remember for years and years to come.

And they do it trip after trip, all season long.💪

When folks say, "Kids these days ..." with a downward 😕 tone at the end ... We just smile 😀 because we know we're about to make their day.

We simply reply -- "You HAVE to meet our kids!"

Kids in Fayette County have SO MUCH GREATNESS ALREADY IN THEM! It's our awesome task as WELS Mentors, Supporters, Families & Community to elicit what's already there -- and time after time after time, 100% of the time, we discover:

Compassion
A Desire to Learn
Curiosity
Respect
Fun-Loving
Team Mindset
Ability to Work Hard & Focus on the Task-at-Hand
Generosity of Spirit
.. and so much more!

Make a point today to think of a local middle-schooler whose greatness you have witnessed ... then smile ... smile 😃& say, "Wow, kids these days ... 🙌"

WELS Adventure Program develops leadership skills in local Fayette County 7th/8th grade youth through outdoor adventure, community service and job skills-building. Apply for one of 15 spots today!

We've taken the leap & did a thing today! Your WELS Adventure Program has been APPROVED to be one of the many nonprofits participating in Fayette Gives 2026 through The Community Foundation of Fayette County!

WELS Graduates put their leadership skills practiced during their WELS session ... including RESPONSIBILITY, RESILIENCE, & INITIATIVE ... to work and make a difference in our local communities!

This week, 6 WELS Graduates joined a service trip group from Indiana to do some ... actually a LOT of ... heavy lifting (!) to continue the rehabilitation process of a downtown Uniontown building.
