Flashback Friday to Art-a-Fest 2024!
Floyd and Kathy did an amazing job bringing the vibrant spirit of East Africa to the lawns of Central Park. Visitors loved exploring the beautiful Tanzanian hand-carved wooden figures, woven baskets, and soapstone sculptures!
Alongside these unique crafts, we shared our mission to end hunger, showcasing our variety of nutritious Outreach Program packaged meals and global mission literature. Thank you to everyone who stopped by!

Tanzanian women get up each morning and sweep the dirt around their homes or facilities? They make sure the leaves and trash are all cleared away before they start each day. Sometimes those who live in places where the needs are great are the most resourceful and careful with the property they have. Here the women are working outside the Iambi Hospital.

As summer winds down, it’s time to gear up for a fresh start. This month is all about getting students, parents, and teachers prepared for a successful school year—organizing supplies, setting new routines, and building excitement for learning. A successful school year starts with a healthy routine. Whether we are serving over 1200 students our nutritious Rice & Bean Meal at our Children’s Centers in Tanzania, or distributing packaged meals to local families across the U.S., our goal is to keep kids fueled and ready to learn. Huge thanks to our amazing partners and sponsors for helping fight hunger across Alabama!
With the support of hundreds of volunteers, 110,000 meals were packaged and delivered last week to families in need.
• Lee County: 200 volunteers packed 50,000 meals for the Food Bank of East Alabama through United Way of Lee County’s “The Local Good.”
• Wiregrass: Community members packed 60,000 meals for Wiregrass Food Bank during the Pacesetter Kickoff, supported by All In Credit Union and Wiregrass United Way.
Together, we’re making a real impact. Thank you for being part of the mission to end hunger!

Welcome back, Floyd and Kathy! What a beautiful and impactful update from Tanzania.

It is incredibly heartening to see how Charlotte Buckmaster’s generous donation is already sparking joy and excitement among the students at the Manyoni Children’s Center.
Access to books is a powerful catalyst for a child's future, and your support highlights exactly why this work matters. A huge debt of gratitude goes out to Sister Basilisa and Mike Kitakwa for their tireless, hands-on coordination to ensure that food, uniforms, and now these educational resources are delivered safely and directly into the hands of the children.
Partnerships and dedication like this truly make the mission of The Outreach Program possible!
