The Union City Rotary had a service day on April 27th! We gathered on our lunch hour to help the nonprofit arts organization, Art Association of Randolph County, with some of their spring prep in the garden at the ArtsDepot! Director Pam Frazier asked us to till the soil and plant a mixture of wildflowers that will help local bees and pollinators this summer as well as bring natural beauty at the visitor entrance. It was camaraderie, fun, and laughter blended into our Rotary motto of “Service Before Self”. We chose serving over lunch, but to be truthful, we did go over to Hometown Coffee afterwards for a cuppa Joe and some snacks! Join us if you’d like to become a part of our Rotary Club. We meet the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Message us if you need more info! See you out and about soon, Union City!!! (Note: the seedlings are indeed growing and UC Rotary now claims a green Thumb!)

The Union City Rotary Club held its semi-monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 17, with President Dennis Pratt presiding.

The guest speaker was Kevin Lehman, representing the Union City Lions Club. He shared the structure of the local club, as well as several of the service projects & fundraisers in which the members take part, including blood draws, Halloween parade, Easter egg hunt, Randolph County Airport fly-in breakfast, & used eye glasses/hearing aid collection. The Lions Club meets on the second & fourth Tuesday evenings in the Community Room.

Our student guests were Iris Schneider & Danika Neargarder, seniors at Mississinawa Valley High School. The ladies shared their current activities & future plans with the members.

Rotarian Anita Amspaugh was program chair.

The next meeting of the Union City Rotary Club will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at 12 o'clock, in the community room.

The Union City Rotary Club held its semi-monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 3, with President Dennis Pratt presiding.

The guest speaker was Chad Puterbaugh, longtime Detective with the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, who shared his passion for helping people, especially children, in undesirable or dangerous situations. He also shared some very interesting, real-life situations from his years of service in law enforcement.

Our student guest was Hilda Rodriguez Garcia, senior at Mississinawa Valley High School. She shared her current activities & future plans with the club.

The next meeting of the Union City Rotary Club will be held on Tuesday, March 17, at 12 o'clock, in the community room.

The Union City Rotary Club met on February 17th and heard Zorina Solano speak about her Mexican snack business. This new business is named El Padrino Mexican Snacks and is located in the laundromat parking lot on W. Oak St. Hours are 3:30-8:30 Thursday-Saturday & 1:30-7::30 Sunday.
